Chapter 84: Chapter 84 He Did Not Protect Sophie Allen
Sophie Allen had never imagined that Evelyn Curtis would’ve come to provoke Aunt Watson last night.
Even more surprising, Evelyn Curtis and Aunt Watson claimed that she seduced Justin Battleson, stealing her happiness.
Sophie Allen scoffed and quickly shook her head: "Aunt Watson, she’s lying. You would believe Charlotte, right?"
Aunt Watson nodded, then extended her hand, pointing towards Aria Wilson who was standing at the door.
"She didn’t... didn’t take care of me... she should refund... refund the money."
Sophie Allen rose to her feet, her face full of anger and walked toward Aria Wilson strongly: "Aunt Watson has accused you of not providing care, Mrs. Wilson, you were the one who broke the contract first!"
Aria Wilson, dropping her earlier pretense of gentleness, blatantly rolled her eyes and responded with arrogance: "A penniless ghost, you want me to provide personal care without money? We had already agreed, and now you want me to refund, making me work hard in vain? Let everyone evaluate this..."
Her loud cry attracted a nurse.
The nurse recognized Sophie Allen. Knowing that she was Henry Hudson’s junior, she sided with Sophie Allen and reprimanded Aria Wilson: "This is a hospital, what is with all the noise? Can’t you communicate properly?"
"Nurse Emily Wood, since you’re here, you can adjudicate this matter!" Aria Wilson recounted the ins and outs, shifted all the blame onto Sophie Allen, trying to persuade that she would do laundry for extra money and it was Sophie Allen forcing her to refund.
Sophie Allen had never seen such a brazen and unscrupulous person, Nurse Emily, knowing of Aria Wilson’s good reputation, couldn’t do anything much but pulled Sophie Allen aside and suggested her letting Aria work another month and afterwards don’t retain her services.
Sophie Allen knew that if she didn’t reclaim this money and let Aria Wilson work for another month, Aria would not take good care of Aunt Watson anymore.
"What happened?" Henry Hudson came over walking with a smile.
As he passed, it seemed as though a breath of fresh air was blowing, cleaning and freshening, seemingly purifying the turbid air around.
Sophie Allen was feeling embarrassed, she had already troubled Hudson more than once.
Now, she had gotten into a trouble with a caregiver.
Hudson recognized Aria Wilson, knowing she was a caregiver hired by Sophie Allen. After taking a glance into the ward, he came to know the reason of Sophie Allen’s anger.
"Auntie Lewis, you’ve accepted the hiring party’s money, you should do your part of duties rather than find excuses to be slack." Hudson said seriously.
Aria Wilson’s face changed. She could see that Henry Hudson’s attitude towards Sophie Allen was not ordinary.
Moreover, while Henry Hudson was seemingly only a trainee doctor, he was, in fact, a shareholder of the Comet Hospital.
However, this was known to very few people.
Being well-informed, she was one of the few who knew.
Aria Wilson pouted, finally decided to compromise: "Alright, if Miss Allen wants a refund, so be it. But I can’t work for free the work that I’ve done in the past two days."
Aria Wilson was shrewd, she wouldn’t allow herself to be taken advantage of.
But she was still quite pleased; even if she lost over ten thousand, she was still making a profit.
"Charlotte, how about you calculate the cost based on the time and the days of work, let Auntie Lewis take 2 days of money, and disregard today’s, and she refunds the rest to you." Henry Hudson played the middleman.
Sophie nodded and ended up reconciling with Aria Wilson. She received the remaining over ten thousand but was still angry with Aria Wilson.
After Aria Wilson left, she lowered her voice and whispered to Hudson: "Such irresponsible caregivers need to be warned by nurses, so that the families of other patients can be cautious."
"Okay." Henry Hudson agreed and then asked cautiously: "Charlotte, I don’t want to make a big deal out of this, were you okay with the decision just now?"
Hudson was worried that he hadn’t protected Sophie Allen and it might make her feel uncomfortable.
