Chapter 79 79: SS 79: Potential Unleashed, Mid-Eighth Sense!

"You know me well."

"But your potential is vast. I may not fully draw it out."

"You're already on the path to godhood."

Old Kai gazed at Kaiser with admiration.

In his long life, Kaiser's power was nearly unmatched.

Perhaps second only to Beerus.

"No matter. Any gain satisfies me."

"My world faces a great crisis."

"Every ounce of strength matters."

Kaiser was content with progress.

"Let me see your power."

Old Kai stood, hands behind his back, studying Kaiser.

His latent strength was staggering.

"Very well!"

Though from different systems,

Old Kai's confidence promised results.

Golden Cosmos flared.

Divinity and God Blood coursed through Kaiser.

Golden divine vision blazed like flames in his eyes.

"What beautiful power."

"A flawless path to godhood."

Old Kai marveled at Kaiser's burning Cosmos.

His eyes gleamed with awe.

Such a perfect system.

He'd never seen its equal.

"Your system maximizes body and soul."

"I'll do my best."

Old Kai said with reverence.

"How long will it take?"

Kaiser nodded.

"With your potential, three days."

Old Kai estimated.

"Three days?"

Kaiser was surprised.

In the original story, Gohan's unlocking took mere hours.

"Good!"

Kaiser agreed, asking Shin to inform Bulma he'd return in three days.

"Sit."

Old Kai sat cross-legged. Kaiser mirrored him, closing his eyes to meditate.

"Oh?"

Old Kai was impressed. Kaiser's serene state simplified the process.

"And this state…"

Old Kai recalled a divine technique.

Ultra Instinct, known only to Destroyers and Angels.

He closed his eyes, and the ritual began.

"Jeice, this ritual…"

"Is it special?"

Shin watched the tranquil pair, confused.

"Perhaps the Old Ancestor has his plans."

"But Lord Supreme Kai, Kaiser's power…"

"Could we address Majin Buu?"

Jeice prompted Shin.

"We'll discuss it after Kaiser's potential is unlocked."

"Majin Buu's strength isn't just power."

"It's his life essence."

Shin's face darkened at Buu's name.

The demon's shadow loomed large.

Time flowed on.

Kaiser cleared his mind.

His heart was calm and serene.

Countless star charts flickered behind him.

The sacred land, once bathed in eternal daylight, had, over the past three days, cycled through day and night.

Both the Supreme Kai Shin and Jeice stared in astonishment at the sky above the sacred land.

The Supreme Kai Realm, where this sacred land resided, occupied a unique position.

It existed beyond the cosmos.

No stars should exist above the Supreme Kai Realm.

Moreover, Supreme Kai Shin noticed something peculiar about the radiant star charts.

Many of those stars didn't belong to their universe.

This further confirmed that Kaiser did not originate from their universe.

"Shenron… could it summon such a powerful being?"

That was the only thought in Supreme Kai Shin's mind.

After learning of Kaiser's origins, he had observed Earth's Shenron.

It possessed a certain degree of wish-granting power.

But it paled in comparison to Namek's Shenron.

It was incapable of summoning a being of such immense strength.

"Could it be…?"

A fleeting thought crossed Supreme Kai Shin's mind.

He quickly dismissed it.

He dared not dwell on it further.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

Kaiser opened his eyes right on time.

"Is it over?"

He looked at the Old Kai standing before him.

"Your potential is truly astonishing." The Old Kai said.

"I couldn't fully draw it out."

"That might affect your path."

"But I've done my best to unlock a portion of it."

"The rest of the journey is yours to walk."

"If the opportunity arises, I can introduce you to a powerful deity."

"He might be able to help you."

The Old Kai withdrew his hands.

"My deepest thanks." Kaiser said, slowly rising to his feet.

He began to sense his own condition.

Hum!

A small universe, far more vibrant than before, began to radiate.

His divinity and divine blood resonated in harmony.

"Mid-Eighth Sense?!"

Kaiser perceived his current realm.

His eyes widened in shock.

The Old Kai's single attempt at unlocking his potential had propelled him across a minor boundary.

It might seem like a small step from early to mid-Eighth Sense.

But Kaiser's strength had multiplied several times over.

Even among those at the Eighth Sense, the old lion Ilias could suppress Asmita with his soul alone.

That was the difference.

Kaiser's small universe had previously been just shy of touching the barrier to the mid-Eighth Sense.

But this journey to the Dragon Ball world had allowed him to break through that barrier directly!

How could Kaiser not be overjoyed?

"My utmost gratitude." He said, calming his excitement.

He thanked the Old Kai again.

"I don't know much about your world's path to godhood." The Old Kai said.

"But during the process of unlocking your potential, I sensed something."

"You still have a long way to go on your path to becoming a god."

"Transcending the boundaries of life itself... what a remarkable cultivation system."

The Old Kai sighed once more.

"Lord Old Kai, I have a question, if I may ask." Kaiser said.

"How does my current strength compare to Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction?"

Kaiser was curious about Beerus's power.

In the original Dragon Ball story, Beerus's strength had been repeatedly patched.

By now, Beerus stood as the mightiest among the twelve Gods of Destruction.

During his battle with the Super Saiyan God, Beerus claimed he used seventy percent of his power.

But in later events, Kaiser suspected Beerus meant seventy out of a hundred-point scale.

Goku and Vegeta, even with Ultra Instinct and Ego, struggled immensely against opponents.

Yet Beerus could dispatch them in seconds.

Such strength was beyond comprehension.

"You even know about Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction?" The Old Kai said, surprised.

"It seems you know a great deal about our world."

"Ancestor…" Supreme Kai Shin asked cautiously, "Who is Lord Beerus?"

The question left the Old Kai visibly exasperated.

"Get lost!" He snapped.

Supreme Kai Shin shrank back, retreating to the side.

Turning to Kaiser, the Old Kai continued, "Your strength is impressive."

"But compared to Lord Beerus, you're still far too weak."

"There's no basis for comparison."

"Right now, Lord Beerus is still slumbering."

"If you get the chance when he awakens, you might try challenging him."

"But be warned... Lord Beerus has a volatile temper."

"One misstep, and you could die."

Kaiser fell silent, reflecting on his current power.

He estimated he far surpassed Super Saiyan 3.

He might even rival the Super Saiyan God.

But he was still a step away from Super Saiyan Blue.

The Super Saiyan Blue in the original Dragon Ball was far stronger than what the anime depicted.

"I understand. Thank you for the advice, Lord Old Kai." Kaiser said, nodding.

There were still over a decade until the events of Dragon Ball Z.

And roughly twenty years until Dragon Ball Super.

In his downtime, he could train in the Dragon Ball world.

It would be a form of rest.

But Kaiser wouldn't stay in the Dragon Ball world forever.

Prolonged peace dulled a warrior's instincts.

A fighter forged in constant battle was worlds apart from one living in comfort.

Even if their power levels were nearly identical.

In the Saint Seiya world, the earth was stabilized by the Zodiac Array.

But maintaining it required effort.

Dealing with the demons or evil gods that assaulted the array was necessary.

Kaiser was the perfect candidate for the task.

His training didn't consume the Saint Seiya world's time.

In the Saint Seiya world, a blink of an eye could bring a breakthrough in his small universe.

That was the joy of his cheat ability.

Kaiser returned to West City.

He settled into a routine.

He trained in the gravity chamber for a time, then traveled with Bulma.

Time passed steadily.

"The World Martial Arts Tournament?"

Kaiser looked at young Goku standing before him.

Goku had come to share the news.

"Are you going to participate?" Kaiser asked, curious.

Kaiser cleared his mind.

His heart was calm and serene.

Time passed steadily.

"The World Martial Arts Tournament?"

Kaiser looked at young Goku standing before him.

Goku had come to share the news.

"Are you going to participate?" Kaiser asked, curious.

"I'm going to join." Goku said, stuffing his face with food.

"Grandpa Master Roshi says it's a great chance to train."

"Lots of strong fighters from around the world will be there."

"So, are you joining?" Goku asked, looking at Kaiser.

He always knew Kaiser was strong.

"I probably won't participate." Kaiser said with a smile.

"But I'll watch your matches."

The World Martial Arts Tournament did attract many of Earth's strongest fighters.

But for Kaiser, it held little meaning.

His power had already reached the level of Dragon Ball Super.

"Okay…" Goku said, a bit disappointed, but quickly distracted by his meal.

The World Martial Arts Tournament was like the Olympics.

But on this Earth, it was an even grander event.

From preliminaries to qualifiers to the final ring battles, it lasted at least a month.

It was a spectacle the whole world watched.

Goku and Krillin fought their way to the quarterfinals.

"You're still as sharp as ever, old man." Kaiser said, approaching Master Roshi.

By now, Roshi had disguised himself as Jackie Chun.

He'd made it to the top eight.

"Can't fool you, can I?" Roshi chuckled.

"Here to check on Goku and Krillin?" Kaiser asked.

"Of course." Roshi nodded.

"They're my Turtle School disciples, after all."

"Hope you don't lose to Goku." Kaiser teased with a grin.

Then he went to find Bulma.

"That kid…" Roshi muttered, shaking his head with a smile.

He acknowledged Goku's immense potential.

But for now, Goku wasn't his match.

Just like in the original story, Goku and Roshi reached the finals.

And, by accident, Goku transformed into a Great Ape.

Kaiser watched as Roshi unleashed a Kamehameha to blast the moon away.

He could only chuckle helplessly.

This world's physics were truly bizarre.

A satellite could just be pushed away like that.

The outcome mirrored the original story.

Kaiser had no intention of interfering with Goku's growth.

He looked forward to Goku becoming the universe's greatest warrior.

"Bulma, ever thought about a trip through space?" Kaiser asked on a whim.

He'd never explored the stars.

"Travel? In space?" Bulma said, surprised.

"I think my sister's out there traveling the cosmos."

"Sure, I'm curious about space too."

Bulma thought of Tights.

With Kaiser by her side, she wasn't too worried about safety.

"Alright, let's go see it." Kaiser said.

He'd already explored most of Earth.

The universe piqued his curiosity.

Back home, Bulma began building a spaceship.

It needed a bathroom, entertainment systems... everything.

Space travel would be too boring otherwise.

Building the spaceship took a month.

Bulma also crafted several Capsule Corp capsules for emergencies.

After saying goodbye to friends, Kaiser and Bulma embarked on their cosmic journey.

Over a decade passed in the blink of an eye.

The years left no mark on Kaiser.

Bulma, however, had matured into an elegant woman.

She'd gone from a vibrant girl to a refined lady.

"I know, Dad. We'll be back on Earth in a few days." Bulma said, talking to her parents as usual.

Both daughters gallivanting through space left them exasperated.

But thankfully, Bulma and Kaiser returned to Earth occasionally.

"Ten years, and still not much progress." Kaiser said, opening his eyes with a hint of frustration.

They'd faced some battles in space.

But for Kaiser now, they offered no growth.

After reaching the Eighth Sense, every step forward was a chasm.

It was incredibly difficult.

Otherwise, the veterans of the Holy Wars wouldn't still be stuck after two centuries.

The leap from Eighth to Ninth Sense was especially daunting.

"It's been almost four years since we last visited Earth." Bulma said.

"Krillin and Master Roshi said we should hang out when we're back."

She piloted the spaceship toward Earth.

"Sounds good. It'll be nice to see old friends." Kaiser said with a smile.

By his calculations, the timeline was nearing the start of Dragon Ball Z.

That meant Goku's brother, Raditz, would soon arrive.

But Raditz was in for a rough time.

Kaiser didn't want to disrupt Goku's growth.

But his presence had already caused ripples.

For instance…

Goku's strength now far surpassed his original story.

In terms of power level, Goku was closing in on 5,000.

In the original story, after defeating King Piccolo, Goku lived peacefully for a while.

He wasn't too focused on training.

When Raditz arrived, Goku's power level was slightly below Piccolo's.

Now, with Kaiser as a role model, Goku had pushed himself harder.

A power level over 5,000.

If Raditz acted cocky, he'd meet a grim fate.

This trip back to Earth was also for Goku's training with King Kai.

With this power level, dying would be tough.

Kaiser would have to nudge him along.

After returning to Earth, they rested for two days.

Kaiser brought Bulma to Master Roshi's island.

Most of their old friends were there.

"Wow, Goku, your kid's gotten so big!" Bulma said, spotting Gohan hiding behind Goku.

Seeing his cute face, she wanted to give him a hug.

"This kid…" Kaiser said to Goku.

"He's got huge potential."

"Even more than you."

This was, after all, the strongest single fighter in Dragon Ball Z!
