Chapter 73 The Ultimate Boss is Delicate and Flirtatious (7)

The phantoms chased after them, and Zhuo Lin didn't ask for directions anymore, casually carrying the person through the inn. Song Yan’s hands wrapped around her waist, and leaning against her, he could hear her heartbeat, steady and strong. It was as if there was a magical power that made his own heart beat along with hers.

He really didn't want to leave.

How could this annoying ghost be so... good?

They were just chance encounters, and even their names might be fake. Yet, she was willing to carry him this far.

Thinking of this, Song Yan dispelled the phantoms following them.

"It seems they're not following anymore. You can put me down."

Zhuo Lin was curious about what this little guy wanted to do, and then she heard him set the person down.

Song Yan tugged at his clothes and looked at her somewhat awkwardly, "Thank, thank you."

"Thank me for what?"

Song Yan blushed and replied sincerely, "Thank you for taking me to run. Actually, you could have run by yourself. I would only be a burden."

"I wanted to!" Zhuo Lin’s demeanor changed drastically. "You have poor stamina and a timid spirit. Carrying you is indeed quite a strain."

If the system were here, it would be counting frantically right now.

Song Yan’s grateful expression froze on his face, his complexion shifting from sunny to overcast. He glared at Zhuo Lin chillingly, his face radiating displeasure.

"But who told you to be so good-looking, and catch my eye?"

Song Yan froze again, then his expression brightened from overcast to sunny.

Watching him perform his 'color palette' magic with his expressions, Zhuo Lin was inwardly delighted. This person’s thoughts were one thing, and what he said was another. If she hadn't seen through his insincerity at a glance, she might have offended him.

He blushed and said shyly, "Regardless, thank you."

She was a good person.

"Thanking me shouldn't just be with words."

She had reminded him countless times in her past life, but clearly, he didn't remember.

"Ah?"

Zhuo Lin looked at his dazed expression and shook her head, "It's nothing. Let's hurry and go find them."

"Oh, okay."

Song Yan had decided to let this group go.

After all, he didn't need to keep everyone. He would let them leave.

This way, he could at least be with her for the next few days.

The thought alone was a pleasant one.

He secretly slipped his hand into Zhuo Lin’s palm, stole a glance at her, and then blushed as he withdrew his gaze. They walked forward hand in hand.

With Song Yan not causing trouble, they followed the red dots on the screen and quickly returned to the upper floor.

The inn had lost its previous silence. Occasionally, terrified screams echoed through the sky, but they still didn't encounter anyone, or any ghosts.

Navigating through the maze-like inn rooms, they soon found the person hanging on a hole in the corridor.

Miss Xihongshi and another man were fending off strangely shaped phantoms. Nan Jiangzi was holding onto the person who had fallen, his face flushed, and his gold-rimmed glasses nearly slipping off.

Zhuo Lin quickly came over to offer a hand.

Song Yan didn't intend to make a move, but he subtly drove away the two phantoms.

In the center of the hall was a hole approximately two meters in diameter. Looking down, it was bottomless, like a gaping maw ready to swallow everything, leaving no bones behind.

Zhuo Lin and Nan Jiangzi forcefully pulled the person back. After they were safely up, they realized that there were not only Ding Xiang below, but also a man and a woman.

Nan Jiangzi sat to the side, panting heavily. The people who had been pulled up were overjoyed as if they had narrowly escaped death, laughing while catching their breath.

The scene appeared somewhat eerie.

After recovering somewhat, Ding Xiang thanked the two of them. The other three, upon being rescued, also expressed their gratitude and introduced themselves.

"My name is Wu Jue, this is my sister Wu Yu, and our teammate is Zhou Dan."

Miss Xihongshi looked at the three and asked, "Are you also game players? Where are your other teammates?"

Wu Jue’s expression turned solemn. "There were originally five of us. We slept last night and woke up separated. I found these two, and as I was about to take them to find the others, we were attacked by phantoms here and almost fell. Fortunately, you all came to our rescue."

"Are their coordinates still there?"

Nan Jiangzi suddenly asked. Everyone else looked confused. Wu Jue asked in bewilderment, "What coordinates?"

"The red dots on the communicator. They represent not only their location but also their status. When I was pulling you up, I saw only four red dots on it."

Wu Jue quickly glanced at his screen.

Indeed, there were only four red dots.

They were in pairs.

Nan Jiangzi immediately became vigilant, holding a wooden stick he had somehow acquired, his eyes sharply fixed on the three of them.

"What's wrong?"

Nan Jiangzi didn't answer but said to his teammates, "Come over here."

The five members of Group 162 immediately stood together.

Nan Jiangzi then looked at them, "Are you coming out on your own, or am I going to drag you out?"
