Gu Fu was too busy to get away and was incessantly bombarded by his wife's phone calls. He had no choice but to send his secretary to bail Gu Yingrong out.
After a day of hassle, it was almost dark when the secretary arrived. Gu Yingrong had been terrified that morning and, after finally calming down, began to act out. One moment she claimed innocence, the next she flaunted her status, and then she'd confess her wrongdoings, only to complain about how Zhuo Jin had treated her...
It seemed Zhuo Jin had indeed scared her; she was bordering on hysteria.
After causing such a scene for half the day, the police were thoroughly fed up. When the secretary came to bail her out, they briefed him on the necessary precautions before he easily escorted her away.
As soon as they left the police station, the secretary said, "Second Miss, did you hear the officer clearly? You are not to leave the city for the next few days. The Chairman has asked me to tell you to beg the Eldest Miss to not pursue your responsibility, otherwise..."
"I know, stop bothering me!" Gu Yingrong was fuming. "Where are the car keys? Give them to me."
The secretary was taken aback. "I can drive you back."
"I told you to give me the car keys!"
The secretary reluctantly handed over the car keys. Gu Yingrong snatched them, bypassed him, got into the car, slammed the door shut with a "bang," and sped off.
Only then did the secretary realize she had only recently come of age and didn't have a driver's license.
"Second Miss!"
He chased after her, but how could two legs outrun four wheels? Gu Yingrong floored the accelerator, leaving him far behind.
Seeing the person chasing her frantically in the rearview mirror, Gu Yingrong flashed a slightly manic smile. She pressed the accelerator again, the soaring speed causing a rush of adrenaline to flood her system. The pent-up frustration was temporarily forgotten, replaced by pure exhilaration that consumed her thoughts. In her daze, she failed to notice a truck turning the corner.
"Bang!" Su Dan Novel Network
The car overturned on the ground. Not wearing a seatbelt, Gu Yingrong slammed into the steering wheel, and her head struck it, causing a bloody gash. Fortunately, it wasn't serious.
She cursed and struggled to climb out through the shattered car window. Staggering to her feet, she raised a finger to the truck driver to scold him when the truck, which had stopped for a moment, suddenly moved again.
"Ah! Ah!"
With a scream, the truck directly rammed into her.
It knocked her to the ground, reversed slightly, and then drove over her again.
Gu Yingrong ignored the scrapes, bruises, and pain. Tears, snot, and blood smeared her face. As she crawled backward on the ground, she shook her head and waved her hands frantically, "No, don't come closer!"
However, the truck didn't stop.
It inched forward, slowly moving until it reached her legs.
"Ah! Ah..."
The pain was so intense she almost fainted. Just then, the truck backed away and then completely stalled.
Gu Yingrong was in so much pain she had lost all sensation. Looking at her mangled leg, her hands were raised helplessly in the air, afraid to touch it.
"It hurts so much, help, help me!"
"Help me!"
Someone got out of the truck, dressed in a disheveled tracksuit with the logo of a third-rate college. Her hair was slightly messy. Though she should have looked like a harmless high school student, her face was currently sinister and manic.
She walked step by step towards Gu Yingrong, finding immense satisfaction in her fear and pathetic state.
"Hahaha, hahaha..."
Gu Yingrong trembled and looked up at her, completely unfamiliar with her and unaware of when she had offended her.
"Wh-why? You..."
"Why did you hurt me?"
Rong Jin squatted in front of her, carelessly reaching out to touch her bloody right leg. The gruesome sight would have terrified an ordinary person, but she seemed to revel in it.
She enjoyed the gore, enjoyed the cruelty.
After her fill, she looked at Gu Yingrong, her voice chillingly insane, "Who told you to call her sister?"
Gu Yingrong looked confused.
"She's my sister, MINE!"
Her blood-red eyes resembled a monster from the abyss. As she glared at Gu Yingrong with hatred, Gu Yingrong felt as if she were being torn to shreds by her gaze.
"MINE, do you hear me, MINE! Hahaha, hahaha! You're not allowed to call her that, she's MINE!"
Gu Yingrong's body trembled slightly, daring not to speak.
She had no idea what this crazy woman was talking about, but she dared not provoke her at that moment. She could only endure the pain and let the woman rant and rave in front of her.
"Sister, mine."
After her laughter subsided, she stood up. "If I ever hear you call her that again, I'll crush this leg too."
As she spoke, she kicked Gu Yingrong's left leg.
Then, she turned and got back into the truck, driving away.
Gu Yingrong, filled with fear, finally regained her senses. Looking at the relatively empty road, she saw her phone lying not far away, which she had dropped in her panic. She dragged her bloody leg over and called for an ambulance and the police.
Just as her emotions had begun to settle, a loud "bang" startled her. She looked up and saw smoke and dust exploding not far away.
It was in the direction the woman had left.
The scales in her mind quickly tipped towards her guessed conclusion. Gu Yingrong's face grew even more fearful, with only one word in her heart: Psycho!

#Explosion#
Zhuo Jin, a keen observer of internet trends, saw the hashtag and instinctively clicked on it.
The top post had a caption and a picture.
[Last night at 8:16 PM, a medium-sized pickup truck exploded on B3 Highway. Surveillance footage shows that the vehicle was driven by an 18-year-old young woman, who has been confirmed deceased. The chain reaction accident caused by the explosion also injured over twenty people, but thankfully, no one else died. //Image attached]
The video was blurry, likely taken from a dashcam. Accompanied by screams, the scene was chaotic.
The events of yesterday had long since lost their heat, and everyone was demanding to know the cause of the explosion. The authorities had yet to respond. Zhuo Jin glanced around casually and then exited the page.
A day had passed, and the person she was waiting for hadn't arrived.
After some thought, she dialed Gu Yingrong's number.
Gu Yingrong's mother answered.
"Where is my person?"
Gu Mu's voice was filled with tears and resentment. "How dare you call! Gu Jin, you jinx, you disaster! Why wasn't it you? My poor daughter! If it weren't for you, how could she have become like this? I won't let you go! Just you wait!"
After spewing her threats, she hung up the phone.
Zhuo Jin looked at her phone, utterly bewildered.
What happened to Gu Yingrong?
She knew what had happened to Gu Yingrong.
"Miss Gu, your sister said the person who hit her forbade her from calling you sister. We wanted to ask, do you have any other sisters besides her?"
Zhuo Jin was completely clueless. "She was hit by a car?"
