Chapter 113: FTRJ: Chapter 113
Aries, Scorpio, and Gemini.
Lucy, the blonde girl, genuinely loved and respected her Celestial Spirits.
"I’ve made several more important friends, Mom!" she wrote in a letter to her mother.
Lucy’s respectful attitude made the three spirits feel appreciated for the first time. They were fortunate to have found a Celestial Spirit Mage like her.
Watching Hargeon Port draw closer, Wendy’s face was bright with excitement. "I’m really looking forward to Fairy Tail!"
Magnolia, inside the Fairy Tail Guildhall.
"That’s the situation, so we want to invite Wendy and Carla to join Fairy Tail," Finn explained.
"My name is Wendy Marvell. Pleased to meet you all!" Wendy smiled, bowing slightly.
Carla, arms crossed, said curtly, "Carla."
The guild’s enthusiastic welcome, however, surprised both girls.
After their introductions, the guildhall erupted in a cacophony of greetings.
"So cute!"
"A female Happy!"
"How old are you, little one?"
Bang—
Erza punched Macao, who was leering at them, sending him flying.
"Knock it off, you lot!" Erza warned, flexing her fist.
They needed to make a good impression on the newcomers. They didn’t want to scare them away.
Finn approached Makarov to give his report.
"Finn, welcome back!" Mirajane’s familiar warm greeting filled the hall.
She always made everyone feel welcome, especially those returning from tiring missions.
Finn smiled. "I’m back!"
Makarov nodded. "You all did a great job. This area will have some peace now."
Makarov then turned to Wendy and Carla, who were surrounded by a throng of guild members, and offered a kind smile.
"And of course, we welcome Wendy and Carla to our guild!"
Finn nodded, returning the smiles of the surrounding guild members.
Meanwhile, Levy embraced Lucy, celebrating her friend’s safe return. This prompted envious glances from Jet and Droy.
Natsu and Happy regaled those around them with tales of their adventures, including their battle with Cobra and the snake that could fly. This drew some skeptical looks.
Mirajane, displaying the Fairy Tail guild mark, approached Wendy and Carla with a warm smile. "Hello, I’m Mirajane."
"Wow, Carla, it’s Mirajane herself!"
Wendy’s face lit up with excitement.
A frequent reader of "Sorcerer Weekly", Wendy was a big fan of Mirajane.
"I’m guessing Carla is like Happy. Wendy, what kind of magic do you use?" Mirajane inquired.
"Hold on, don’t compare me to that tomcat!"
Carla protested vehemently.
Wendy, fidgeting with the hem of her skirt, said softly, "I use Sky Magic. I’m a Sky Dragon Slayer."
At Wendy’s words, a hush fell over the guildhall, followed by gasps of astonishment.
Silence descended upon the room.
"Everyone... seems surprised..." Wendy hung her head, a look of disappointment clouding her features.
Carla looked at Wendy with a hint of worry.
"Whoa!! Amazing!"
The stunned silence was shattered as the guild erupted into a frenzy of excitement.
Wendy and Carla stared, bewildered, at the suddenly jubilant crowd.
"She’s a Dragon Slayer!!" The guild members cheered loudly.
"Amazing!"
"Just like Natsu!"
"And Gajeel!"
"That means we have three Dragon Slayers in the guild now!" Wakaba, overcome with excitement, began to jiggle uncontrollably.
"It’s incredibly rare magic," Nab added, his voice filled with awe.
Watching the mages celebrating wildly, Wendy’s face broke into a radiant smile.
From his vantage point on the second floor, Gajeel watched Happy and Carla from below, his arms crossed, a serious expression on his face.
"Little... little cat..." Gajeel muttered, clenching his fists tightly.
"We’re all Dragon Slayers... Natsu has Happy, Wendy has Carla, but why... why don’t I have a cat?"
Gajeel stared down at Natsu and Wendy, lost in thought.
"Alright you brats, party time!" Makarov announced, leaping onto the bar counter.
"Let’s throw a welcome party for Wendy and Carla!!"
"Oooooh!!"
A wave of ecstatic cheers washed over the guildhall.
Fairy Tail was once again alive with the sounds of unrestrained merriment.
"Let’s make some noise!"
"Yeah! I’m fired up!" Natsu bellowed at the top of his lungs.
"Natsu, you’re burning my clothes!"
"Mira, I need a glass of milk!"
"Seriously? Milk? Mira, get me a whole pitcher of beer!"
"No, make it two!"
"Gray, for goodness sake, put your shirt back on!"
"Carla, fancy a bit of my fish?"
"No thanks."
Wendy and Carla watched the boisterous crowd with excited smiles.
"This guild is so much fun, Carla!"
"What a bunch of noisy brats," Carla commented, arms still folded across her chest.
Despite her words, a subtle smile played on her lips.
Makarov, observing Wendy, nodded. He had been worried she wouldn’t fit in.
"Don’t worry, Guild Master, Wendy and Carla will be perfect for Fairy Tail!" Finn raised his glass, gesturing for Makarov to join him in a toast.
"Now, now, Finn, show a little more enthusiasm. A proper toast requires alcohol, you know," Makarov said, shaking his head at the glass of milk in Finn’s hand.
"Ah, this is milk as a substitute for alcohol. Come on, let’s make a toast!"
Finn insisted on clinking glasses with Makarov.
Makarov shook his head repeatedly. "You’re incorrigible!"
After downing a mug of beer, Makarov let out a satisfied burp.
He turned to Finn. "Thanks to you, these kids made it back safe and sound!"
Finn waved his hand dismissively. "You shouldn’t say that, Guild Master. Natsu and the others have grown so much stronger."
Makarov nodded. "Yes, they’ve all grown considerably. Therefore..."
"Hmm?" Finn tilted his head, intrigued by Makarov’s cryptic words.
Makarov continued, "Therefore, you should plan on spending some time at the guild. The S-Class Mage Exams are just around the corner!"
"Ugh, I knew it. You always find a way to keep me busy," Finn sighed, a hint of exasperation in his voice.
Makarov chuckled. "We have more candidates for the S-Class Exams this year than ever before, so we’ll need a few extra examiners. And Gildarts will be returning soon."
"Oh? Gildarts?" Finn’s interest was piqued.
"That old codger hasn’t been back in three years!" Finn exclaimed, a wave of nostalgia washing over him as he recalled Gildarts bringing him to the guild all those years ago.
As they continued their conversation, the heavy wooden doors of the Fairy Tail guildhall creaked open slowly...
