Chapter 389 The War Has Just Begun

The soldiers holding the firebombs startled the warriors of the Arabian Empire. Many of them had already experienced the terror of firebombs and knew their grim fate if one landed on them. The front ranks faltered, stopping their advance.

"It's their strange bottles! They've brought out their strange bottles!!"

"Cavalry! Where is our cavalry? Hurry, send our cavalry to charge!!"

"We need cavalry! We need cavalry now!!"

They knew their own speed was no match for the flames of the firebombs. Charging forward would be no different from suicide. Therefore, they desperately needed the cavalry to break through the barrier ahead. Although many were already being pushed towards the city gate, their cries still echoed outwards.

"Cavalry! We need cavalry!!"

"Report to His Majesty at once! We need cavalry!!"

"Alright, I'll report to His Majesty immediately and have our cavalry charge!"

The soldiers at the very front had no idea what was happening behind them. Once pushed to the front, they had successfully entered the range of the firebombs. Without hesitation, Lin Tian's army began to hurl the firebombs. A multitude of firebombs descended upon the warriors of the Arabian Empire, sending them into a panic.

"Careful! Careful of their fire!!"

"Bottles! Their bottles are coming! Everyone be careful!!"

"Ah! We're going to die! We're going to be burned alive!!"

The soldiers of the Arabian Empire were consumed by a profound fear of the firebombs. They understood clearly the horrific way they were likely to die. Because of this, their terror reached an extreme. Yet, even their fear could not change their fate.

Fierce flames erupted around the soldiers, igniting them instantly. A vast number of them perished in the inferno. The intensity of the flames deterred any other warriors of the Arabian Empire from approaching. However, in their rear, the Great Emperor of the Arabian Empire received the pleas for help from the front.

Upon learning that the city gate had been breached and that large numbers of cavalry were needed, the Great Emperor of the Arabian Empire didn't hesitate. He immediately dispatched his forces.

"Order our cavalry to charge immediately and reinforce our army!!"

"At the same time, order all our remaining troops to advance and attack the city with full force!!"

"Yes!!"

In the eyes of the Great Emperor of the Arabian Empire, this was the moment of a decisive battle. Therefore, he unhesitatingly committed his forces, ordering them to press forward. With the fifteen thousand troops already deployed, sending another fifteen thousand now created an immense pressure. The Great Emperor of the Arabian Empire believed that with this second wave, they could end the war.

However, what he didn't know was that Lin Tian had been waiting for this subsequent force of fifteen thousand troops to advance. Upon seeing them move forward, he gave his orders without delay.

"Order our cavalry to be ready to charge them at any moment!!"

"Furthermore, relay the order that it's time to bring out our giant firebombs!"

"I want my firebombs to explode directly within their army!!"

Up until this point, Lin Tian had not deployed his giant firebombs, nor had he launched them. The reason was to wait for the arrival of the Arabian Empire's forces and then deliver a devastating blow. Lin Tian was confident that the explosion of his massive firebombs, even if not crippling, would undoubtedly shatter the courage of many.

Unaware of this, the warriors of the Arabian Empire, having seen the previous volley of firebombs, assumed Lin Tian's army had exhausted its defensive measures. Consequently, they charged with particular gusto. They even felt that once they reached the city gate, they could use the speed of their cavalry and their sheer numbers to storm into Lin Tian's city. Because of this, many soldiers clustered together, rapidly approaching the city gate. Some even relaxed their expressions, feeling that victory was within reach. Their advance became cheerful.

It was at this moment that Lin Tian's army sprang into action.

"Fire!!"

At this command, dozens of giant firebombs were hurled forward. While their range might not have matched that of thrown stones, their size and power were formidable. Their appearance immediately captured everyone's attention.

"What is this??"

"I don't know, it looks like a large vat!!"

"Why does this thing look so familiar? And I think I can see flames inside!!"

The colossal firebombs appeared familiar to many. They realized that these were enlarged versions of the firebombs. However, even with this realization, they failed to react in time. Thus, many could only watch as the giant firebombs landed near them.

"Rumble!!"

The destructive power of the giant firebombs was undoubtedly terrifying. While it didn't cause the ground to shake, the sound of the explosion left many with a ringing in their ears. Simultaneously, numerous individuals were instantly engulfed in flames, injured by the shrapnel from the giant firebombs. In mere moments, thousands were affected. Their piercing screams echoed in countless ears.

"Fire! It's fire!!"

"Ah! Save me, please save me, I don't want to die!!"

"How is this possible? How can this be? They have even more ferocious fire? How are we supposed to attack the city now??"

No one had anticipated such colossal firebombs. No one had foreseen such ferocity of flame. Affecting thousands in a single barrage was brutally efficient. More importantly, this was just the first wave of attacks; more giant firebombs were still to come. In addition, a relentless rain of arrows continued to fall from the sky. This made many feel that their situation was far from favorable, and their war had only just begun.
