Chapter 527: Independent Woman.
Wood is perhaps the element most vulnerable to lightning. So in a fight, he is sure he can defeat her even though she has a more advanced cultivation than him and is older than him.
But he doesn’t want to fight her because Sword Flash told him to be the reasonable one. His job is to make sure that no matter what happens, the Blood Skull sect will remain intact.
Sword Flash has made a lot of preparations for the sect. The part he is to play is to hold the fort, not fight with the other patriarch of the sect or run around the Five Veins Region provoking fights.
This job seems simple, but it is actually a very difficult thing for him to do. For one, he has been looking forward to beating Evergreen for a while now.
Sword Flash’s absence is a good opportunity to fulfill this dream. But he has to hold back and not beat her up. It is very difficult for him to do.
Secondly, he is a battle maniac who has a lot of confidence in his power. He has also wanted to fight the old bones in the Black Bones sect and test the might of lightning against the best that the ways of necromancy have to offer in this part of the world.
What he wants to do is to go about picking a fight. But now he has to do the opposite of what he wants to do even when Evergreen is offering him the perfect opportunity to do so.
As he thought about his situation, he chuckled. He felt amused because the irony of the situation was that if Sword Flash had been the one to say that they should unify the Five Veins Region, he would have jumped on board and would be excited to go about fighting people.
He sighed and said, "I guess I am growing old."
After Thunder Drake left, Lady Evergreen snorted and said, "You can go. I’m sure that I can do this on my own. I don’t need you. I don’t need anyone."
She said that, but she immediately began reaching out to the golden core cultivators in the sect to inform them to prepare for war.
She was sure that the golden core cultivators in the sect would listen to her and rally to her cause because the war she is about to start will give them the opportunity to acquire the resources they need to advance to the next realm.
Currently, the Blood Skull Sect is saturated in terms of cultivators at the fifth mortal coil. Unless one of the patriarchs dies and their wealth, including their corpse, is recovered and used to nurture the next generation, a new patriarch won’t appear.
There are three patriarchs and around ten golden core cultivators at the peak of the realm waiting to take their place. Those golden core cultivators are waiting every day for one of the patriarchs to die.
Even if only 30% of those ten golden core cultivators succeed in advancing, they will be able to replace all three patriarchs. This is the opposite situation in the other four sects.
In the other sects, there is usually one patriarch that no one hopes will die because their death will make the sect vulnerable. And there are at most three cultivators at the peak of the Golden Core realm who can replace that patriarch.
It is going to be very difficult for a successful replacement for the patriarchs in the other sects to happen. So in her opinion, they shouldn’t bother trying to create a replacement.
She believes that the resources of the other sects should be given to the Blood Skull sect to help their stranded golden core cultivators advance, and she believes that the golden core cultivators will agree with her about it.
She was expecting even Void Claw to agree with her despite the fact that he earned a lot of loot after he killed that nascent soul patriarch.
She was sure because what Void Claw got wasn’t enough to help him advance. He needed more resources, and this war would be the perfect opportunity for him to get the resources he needed.
After all, if he could defeat a nascent soul patriarch, no other golden core cultivator should be his match. So he had very little to worry about and a lot to gain if he participated in the war.
However, reality proved otherwise. Every golden core elder that she contacted said that they were busy on a mission and were not available to fight.
When she asked them what mission it was, they all said that it was a top secret mission that was given to them by Sword Flash. This revelation made her grind her teeth in anger.
Nothing she said could convince them to abandon their mission and go to war for her. They knew that the war would truly benefit them if successful, but they are not sure that a war without Sword Flash and Thunder Drake will be successful.
Besides, Sword Flash had promised them that he was leaving to find a way to get more resources for them. They had more faith in Sword Flash, so no one obeyed her order.
This made her very angry.
She growled as she said, "It is that damn Sword Flash again. He is impeding me even when he is not here. How can I control the Five Veins Region if I can’t even control my sect?"
She wasn’t going to stand for this disrespect. So she sent out her avatars to kidnap the golden core cultivators and bring them to her.
She was confident in forcing them to do her bidding. Unfortunately for her, all of the Golden Core cultivators in the sect had disappeared. She couldn’t find any of them, so she couldn’t grab them and forcefully bring them over.
The more this was the case, the more she was hell-bent on finding the golden core cultivators and making them obey her. She was so focused on this that she didn’t bother with anything else.
