Chapter 71: The Bathory Family[4]
Becca ran until she was out of breath, behind her about a dozen armored guards of the Bathory Family chased her.
When she saw she was far away from the others she jumped with all her strength and jumped over the guards doing a backflip.
She landed on her feet and didn’t waste any time, with her sword in hand she swung it horizontally–an arc of fire jumped out from the sword and clung to their armor.
Seeing them being caught off guard she pressed hard and reduced the distance between her and them.
All of them had swords which they had unsheathed, Becca ducked under two and swung her sword, slashing their thighs and rolling out of the way of a heavy strike from one.
She blocked another strike with her sword and raised her left hand to shoot out multiple fire arrows towards the ones who jumped at her from behind the one she blocked.
Her wrists glowed as she kept shooting fire arrows and cutting the guards, she suddenly did a full split to evade a horizontal slash and swung the sword vertically which cut the crotch of the one who just attacked.
Blood dripped down as the guard fell down in pain, she got up and twisted her body to dodge two more swords and swung her sword with full strength cutting off the heads of the two.
Blood splattered all over her sword and her clothes, the guards were taken aback as to how a single woman was able to fight them and overpower them.
She had just killed three of them, despite them having the advantage in numbers they couldn’t scratch her a single time.
But while they were hesitating in attacking her, she fired bullets at them and leapt towards them as she cut through the remaining guards as if they were not armored but their flesh was exposed.
Only three were left, they backed away as Becca took a step towards them. Their hands shook with fear as the trees cast a shadow on Beeca’s face, it looked as if it was a demon instead of her.
Her red hair flowed wildly with the air and her emerald green eyes pierced them deep, her face was covered in a dark shadow making her look more fierce.
She didn’t wait for them to plead, she swung her sword and cut through three necks with a single strike.
She grabbed one head and started walking towards the sounds of fighting coming from not too far away.
She was the one to suggest that they all should split, now that she had finished her fight she was going to help the others.

Xior jumped back as the elites pushed towards him and tried to capture him. They were certainly better than the blood manipulator he had fought but he too was not weak.
He dodged their strikes but some hit, his skin was cut, his bones broken but it was nothing for him.
He swung his sword when he saw an opening but his attack was blocked by the others, the elites moved as if they were one single person.
Their attacks were timed and accurate and they covered each other as if they were part of the same body.
It was not easy to cut them but Xior didn’t back down, he swung his sword towards one of the elites but another one blocked it from the right.
Xior loosened the grip on his sword which made the elite stumble forward, Xior grabbed the elite by the chest plate and with one hand swung him over and slammed him onto the ground.
A loud groan escaped the elite’s mouth as Xior then put his foot on the chest, putting pressure on his chest.
The others didn’t like it and attacked him once again, this time their attacks were much more fierce.
Xior’s whole body was riddled with cuts and stabs but he didn’t let go of the elite under his foot.
From his back a sword poked out, still stuck inside him. He sighed, this was the second time a weapon got stuck in his back.
He grabbed the sword and pulled it out of his back and threw it back to the one without one. The wound on his back and his body closed instantly. He lunged forward and punched the nearest one on the chest.
The armor caved in as the elite spat out a mouthful of blood and fell down dead. Xior put his sword back inside his inventory and rushed the others.
He blocked the sword strike with his left arm, it was cut cleanly by the sword but he didn’t flinch. This wasn’t the first time his arm was severed, and this surely wasn’t going to be the last time.
His punch connected and sent the elite flying, the one who had cut his arm aimed for his neck but Xior’s left arm regenerated instantly and he grabbed the sword with his hand.
With some pressure he broke the sword and stabbed the elites throat with the broken part.
The elite choked on his own blood and died on the spot.
The other elites looked at Xior and quickly drank a vial of blood each, their eyes shone brightly, their bodies enlarged and fangs became longer.
This was the blood from the Bathory Family Patriarch which he had given to the elites for their outstanding performance.
The blood of a pure blooded vampire was enough to increase the capability of normal vampires but if given to the elites who worked hard and got on top of the food chain, they would turn into real monsters with crazy strength and were an annoyance.
From the ground black chains erupted and latched onto the elites keeping them in the palace, Xior ran and started their slaughter.
But the chains couldn’t hold them back completely, two broke free and rushed him as they swung their swords.
Xior dodged them and stabbed their chests with his hand, grabbed their hearts and pulled them out.
Blood splattered on the ground and onto Xior’s face as well, the other elites rushed him and this time he thought of letting go, to not hold back.
The world seemed to slow for him, he ducked under the swing of one of the elites and then moved for a punch, he used his full strength in his right fist.
As his hand connected with the body, the sound of flesh being ripped and bones being cracked was heard out loud.
It all happened too quick for anyone to notice, but when the dust settled Xior stood all alone with the elites on the ground.
The one he had punched was dead with a gaping hole in his torso. Xior sat down and waited for his wounds to regenerate. He just hoped Becca and the others were safe.

Meeka although knew how to fight somewhat, she was physically the worst out of the four women.
She tripped over some stone in the path and rolled out of the way of a sword. She only knew how to fight with magic, she had never used a weapon nor she knew how to defend against them.
She attacked them with wind attacks which they blocked or dodged, and now she was on the ground with the guards surrounding her.
She got up, her arm was bleeding from the cut one managed to make while she was running.
She shot wind bursts against them and tried to make a run for it but her path was blocked, she raised her hands and a bright light shot out of them blinding the guards, giving her enough time to run away.
But one of them grabbed her arm as she ran by him and pulled her back, she fell on the cold hard ground, her back ached as it met the ground.
She groaned in pain, the guards were about to behead her but someone jumped on top of his head and cut it off.
Blood sprayed out like a fountain and spilled all over Meeka, then she saw her savior. It was none other than Becca.
She had come to her rescue despite being hard on her and thinking she was going to betray them.
The guards who had encircled them loosened up a bit, Becca being here with no other guards chasing her only meant one thing–that she had killed them all and made her way here.
She extended her hand to Meeka as the latter grabbed it and got up. Although there were still some doubts in Becca’s mind, she could not possibly let someone who spent those hellish days with her and her group on the sea.
Becca didn’t waste any time and shot fire arrows towards them while Meeka shot wind bullets.
The fire arrows getting combined with wind bullets created a tornado of fire of sorts in the air which clawed at them and burned them through their armor.
With Becca here, Meeka knew she was going to live. They had to finish this quickly as they still heard sounds of fighting not too far away.
Alice and Beatrice were fighting alone and they needed to go and help them.
