Isaac realized he was about to die horribly and cried out to Number Three again for help.
Xu Jinsong turned to look at Number Three. Though Number Three appeared to be hesitating, his hesitation was a form of decision—
He had no intention of intervening.
“Why aren’t you saving him? If he dies, it’ll be just you and me left,” Xu Jinsong asked.
Number Three smiled faintly, “You don’t expect me to help him, do you?”
Xu Jinsong remained silent.
Number Three’s gaze fell on Chen Jinzhao. “Candle Dragon is truly too powerful. To show him my respect, I won’t interfere halfway. Besides, he’s a dead man walking anyway. Might as well do Candle Dragon a favor and let Isaac and Robinson Ross be his escorts to the underworld.”
“I’m showing him face, and I’m showing you face.”
Xu Jinsong paused, then his understanding dawned.
He truly regarded Number Three beside him as his own brother.
The two looked at Chen Jinzhao again.
Chen Jinzhao, covered in wounds, lunged at Isaac under immense pressure. Isaac, no longer able to resist, desperately scrambled towards Number Three.
Chen Jinzhao was quick. He threw the tri-edged dagger in his hand.
The Tai Sui streaked through the air, a cold glint that pierced Isaac’s thigh. Isaac collapsed to the ground with a thud.
He turned sharply. Chen Jinzhao was already there.
Isaac roared, “Number Three, why aren’t you saving him? Are you just going to watch us die at Chen Jinzhao’s hands? If so, I wish you the same fate. Just you wait, I’ll be watching you from heaven after I die.”
Chen Jinzhao grabbed Isaac by the collar, yanking him to his feet.
Isaac glared at Chen Jinzhao, “Why? Why kill me instead of Robinson first?”
“Is it worth it?”
Chen Jinzhao said calmly, “As long as I can kill you, it’s worth it.”
Isaac gasped, then laughed heartily, “Chen Jinzhao, Chen Jinzhao, you truly are a loyal and righteous man. It reminds me of when I massacred the Candle Dragon special forces members. They too threw themselves forward to die for their comrades. I killed them all in the end.”
Chen Jinzhao’s eyes turned cold, and he then plunged the knife into Isaac’s neck.
However, he didn’t pull the knife out immediately. He left it there, letting Isaac feel the terror of his life slowly ebbing away.
Isaac snorted coldly, “As the old saying in your country goes, when you walk by the river, you’re bound to get your shoes wet.”
“When I killed so many people, I knew that one day I would die at someone else’s hands.”
“But I never imagined it would be at your hands.”
Chen Jinzhao continued to grip Isaac’s collar and then punched Isaac’s head repeatedly. He controlled his strength perfectly, ensuring Isaac wouldn’t die immediately or lose consciousness, but would have his skull pulverized under Chen Jinzhao’s blows while fully aware.
The process was gruesome. In the end, Isaac truly began to fear.
Death itself was not frightening; the process was.
In a blink of an eye.
Half of Isaac’s head was shattered. He was still conscious, able to clearly feel his life slowly draining away.
“Please, kill me,” he pleaded.
Chen Jinzhao ignored him, continuing to pound Isaac’s head with his fists.
Everyone in the laboratory had stopped their work, their eyes fixed on Chen Jinzhao with terror.
As Isaac’s weakened moans continued, his life finally reached its end.
Even after he was dead, Chen Jinzhao continued to strike his head, as if he hadn’t had his fill. Everyone who witnessed this felt a chill run down their spines.
What a terrifying man.
Number Three’s expression turned grim. He murmured, “I think I might have made the wrong decision. Perhaps I should have helped.”
He had underestimated Chen Jinzhao’s resolve to kill.
Sometimes, strength wasn't everything. Perseverance and determination were also indispensable, often becoming the key factors in victory.
Xu Jinsong also said, “You underestimated him.”
Number Three grunted.
The deed was done. What else could they do?
Chen Jinzhao casually tossed Isaac’s corpse aside, like discarding a rag doll.
The remaining three A-grade Black Blood members’ hair stood on end. They were targeted by Chen Jinzhao, a god of death.
They completely lost the will to fight and turned to flee without a word.
Chen Jinzhao kicked the Tai Sui lying on the ground. It struck the back of one of them, killing him instantly.
Then—
Under everyone’s gaze, he drew his pistol from his waist and fired two shots. Those two men were also shot in the head.
Three A-grades were less than chicks in front of Chen Jinzhao.
Let alone resist.
They would likely only die faster.
After casually killing the three men, Chen Jinzhao tossed his pistol aside and walked towards the downed Robinson Ross.
Robinson Ross wanted to escape, but he couldn't.
Chen Jinzhao stepped on Robinson Ross’s chest. Several of his ribs were already broken. With the force of Chen Jinzhao’s foot, the sharp fragments of his ribs pressed against Robinson Ross’s heart, making him smell death.
But he didn’t want to die.
“Save me, I’ll pay any price,” Robinson pleaded to Number Three.
Seeing that Number Three had no intention of acting, he quickly looked at Chen Jinzhao, “I have no deep hatred with you. You can let me go. To buy my life, I can pay a billion!”
Chen Jinzhao remained silent.
“US dollars!” Robinson added.
Meanwhile.
A young man in a suit wearing gold-rimmed glasses emerged from the depths of the laboratory. He frowned upon seeing the mess and turned to Number Three, questioning, “What happened? They are our friends. Why did you just stand by?”
Number Three calmly replied, “As I said before, I would not interfere.”
The young man was immediately displeased and spoke with an imperious tone, “Number Three, I order you to save Robinson and kill Chen Jinzhao immediately.”
Number Three still did not move.
“Hey.”
“Are you listening to me?” the young man spoke again.
“Wu Qin, drop that tone of command. I don’t like people speaking to me that way,” Number Three said slowly, a hint of displeasure in his voice.
Not far away.
Chen Jinzhao heard the name Wu Qin and couldn’t help but look over.
The name was too familiar.
Wu Qin was a direct descendant of the Wu family, and the younger brother of the eldest son, Wu Zhongjun. As Wu Qin hadn't appeared for many years, it was widely rumored he had died. He never expected him to still be alive.
Hearing Number Three’s words, Wu Qin became furious, “Listen to me very clearly, damn it. This is our Divine Kingdom’s laboratory, and you are our Divine Kingdom’s lackey!”
“You must obey my orders!”
Number Three’s eyes suddenly turned ice-cold.
“Say that again?”
