Ning Fei looked at Chen Jinzhao in surprise, and only then did he get a clear look at his face. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "It's you? Weren't you supposed to be in jail?"
"Why would I be in jail?" Chen Jinzhao countered with a smile.
Zhao Defeng walked over and explained to Ning Fei that the case had been solved and Chen Jinzhao had been acquitted.
Ning Fei's brow furrowed, a sense of unease creeping in.
After the incident yesterday, he had asked his grandfather to have Chen Jinzhao dealt with through Yang Yiqian, to give him some trouble even if he was innocent. But now, Chen Jinzhao was out.
"Where's Director Yang?" Ning Fei asked Zhao Defeng.
Zhao Defeng, unwilling to leak internal information to Ning Fei, vaguely replied, "He's attending a meeting in the provincial capital these few days. It might be difficult to reach him for the next few days."
