Chapter 201 Lord of the Night

The downpour continued unabated.

Raindrops struck Chen Jinzhao's body, stinging as if with small pebbles.

Upon reaching the third defense line, Chen Jinzhao observed carefully and found no one there. He certainly didn't believe they had been scared off by him; instead, he surmised Yang Biao's combat strategy.

"Concentrating forces to deal with me?" Chen Jinzhao found it amusing.

"Earlier, I was worried about any stragglers. Now, it's good that you've gathered everyone in the abandoned factory for me to catch them all in one net."

He strode towards the abandoned factory.

Before long, Chen Jinzhao spotted the factory situated in the center of the derelict village, with a faint light emanating from within.

The shadows had set up a generator here.

Chen Jinzhao was not foolish enough to breach the main entrance. Doing so would pit him against over a dozen firearms, and unless he was made of steel, he would undoubtedly be riddled with bullets.

Fortunately, Chen Jinzhao had learned the factory's internal layout from the assassin beforehand and knew the generator was in a small room on the right. Thus, Chen Jinzhao circled around, reaching the small room and destroying the generator.

The entire factory building plunged into darkness.

Yang Biao was still awaiting good news, but instead received his subordinate. The subordinate stammered in panic, "Boss, the generator has been destroyed, and the entire factory is plunged into darkness. What should we do now?"

"What?!"

Yang Biao stood up, his face grim.

He stared blankly at the last candle remaining on the table, and said in a low voice, "Continue guarding the entrance. It's the only way in and out of the factory. If he wants to rescue Yu Mengzhi, he has to come through the door!"

"Open fire the moment there's any movement!"

The subordinate retreated after receiving the order.

Yang Biao lit another cigarette. This was already the tenth he had lit tonight.

For some reason.

A profound unease welled up in his heart. He felt they had become trapped in a jar, aware that Chen Jinzhao was alone.

"Thirteen against one. The advantage is ours," Yang Biao murmured, trying to reassure himself.

While these men were strictly guarding the factory entrance, Chen Jinzhao had already climbed onto the factory roof. The roof was made of tin sheets. After climbing onto it, Chen Jinzhao drew Tai Sui and pierced the metal, then began to cut through the sheeting! Tai Sui was razor-sharp, slicing through metal with ease. Chen Jinzhao then placed the cable he had retrieved from the generator room onto a ventilation pipe, tied the other end to his waist, and slowly descended into the factory from the roof.

Thanks to the heavy rain outside, the noise of raindrops hitting the tin roof was deafening, effectively masking the sounds Chen Jinzhao was making.

Having entered the factory, Chen Jinzhao found cover and hid behind it.

In the complete darkness, his eyesight far surpassed that of ordinary people. He spent a few more minutes familiarizing himself with the personnel deployment within the factory.

These men were smart. A total of twelve individuals were divided into four groups, with three members in each group.

The three members of each group stood back-to-back, allowing for 360-degree surveillance of their surroundings. Chen Jinzhao carefully assessed the situation and realized that using firearms would alert the enemy.

He could eliminate an entire group of members within seconds!

Moreover, the distance between these four groups was over ten meters. Coupled with the roaring noise from the roof, they might not discover Chen Jinzhao's presence immediately.

With this thought, Chen Jinzhao prepared to act.

He looked up at the office on the second floor of the factory. A faint light was emanating from there, which was likely where Yu Mengzhi was being held captive.

"I'm coming, wait for me," he thought to himself.

The operation began!

Chen Jinzhao, wielding Tai Sui, moved stealthily in the darkness.

Due to the immense noise from the downpour, Chen Jinzhao didn't need to meticulously control his footsteps. He transformed into a shadow, appearing beside a three-man team. With a swift advance, before anyone could react, he pierced through a throat! The remaining two members of the group reacted. One, upon seeing Chen Jinzhao at close range, immediately smelled a strong, almost nauseating scent of blood!

He lowered his head abruptly and discovered that the triangular dagger had already pierced his heart!

The last man, filled with terror, couldn't comprehend how Chen Jinzhao had entered from outside. He opened his mouth to shout!

Chen Jinzhao frowned, pulled Tai Sui from the second corpse, rushed to the man, covered his mouth, and then twisted his neck. In close-quarters combat, none of these men could withstand Chen Jinzhao.

Having dealt with one squad, Chen Jinzhao was splattered with blood.

He silently withdrew, like a ghost, re-entering the darkness.

Two minutes later.

A terrified scream echoed through the factory, "How are they dead? That person has already broken in!"

This remark caused everyone to panic. In the pitch-black darkness, it seemed a ferocious beast lay in wait! Ironically, they had previously believed this to be a simple hunting game. Now, although it had come true, they had become the prey instead of the hunters.

"Ah!"

A scream rang out, and another person fell.

Chen Jinzhao struck again, successfully disrupting the formation of these men, which further facilitated Chen Jinzhao's actions.

Someone shouted, "Don't panic! We'll group together, and he won't be able to do anything to so many of us!"

"Come here!"

The remaining eight men gathered together.

It was at this moment that another scream erupted near the group. Before they could even react, warm blood splattered onto their faces.

Another person fell.

By now, everyone's fear had reached its peak. They no longer had the courage to face Chen Jinzhao directly.

Chen Jinzhao was the master of this night!

The remaining seven scattered and fled, afraid to stay together, lest Chen Jinzhao take them all down at once. But how could they have imagined that whether they gathered together or dispersed made no difference to Chen Jinzhao.

These people were like chickens awaiting slaughter.

Screams of terror tore through the night sky, piercing deep into everyone's hearts.

Four more men fell in pools of blood.

This meant Chen Jinzhao had killed nine people since entering the factory. No one could stop his advance. The last three men, utterly petrified, fled towards Yang Biao's office.

"Boss, something big has happened!" One of the men's faces was covered in blood, his terror evident.

Seeing the state of these three men, Yang Biao's heart sank. "What exactly happened? Didn't I tell you to guard the gate, how did he get in?"

"He... he's not human! He appeared from our rear and killed all our brothers. Now there are only three of us left!" The man nearly burst into tears, as if facing not a person, but a specter haunting the night.

Yang Biao was greatly alarmed, having not anticipated such an outcome.

Looking at his remaining three subordinates, Yang Biao's lips paled slightly. He said in a low voice, "Don't worry. The four of us will wait for him here. I refuse to believe he's so strong that he can disregard firearms!"

"Besides,"

"We still have the hostage. Chen Jinzhao surely wouldn't want to see his beloved turn into withered bones, would he?"
