Midnight.
A military green Jeep drove into Donghai Street, where traffic was still heavy.
Compared to the sedans, the Jeep appeared solitary.
In a sense, Chen JinZhao was also alone, for no one could comprehend his predicament, nor could anyone assist him.
He was fighting a lone battle!
After more than ten minutes, the Jeep reached an intersection. To the right was a wide road, but four guards stood sentinel at its entrance. To enter the Han family's estate, one had to pass through this road to reach the manor gates.
Before Chen JinZhao could turn in, he was stopped by the guards.
He parked the car and alighted. The leading guard stepped forward and said, "Sir, this is private property, and visiting hours have passed. Please come back tomorrow."
Chen JinZhao let out a cold laugh.
For ordinary citizens, there was no private property, yet for these esteemed families, there was.
Was this not hypocrisy?
"I am Chen JinZhao, the chief instructor of the Zhulong Special Forces. I have something to say to you." Chen JinZhao produced his identification. The guard, clearly from the military, had heard of Chen JinZhao's name.
He paused, then stepped forward.
Without a word, Chen JinZhao struck the guard with a palm chop, knocking him unconscious.
The remaining three guards immediately surrounded him, but they dared not fire at Chen JinZhao, given his identity. Chen JinZhao did not wish to trouble them further, which was why he had revealed his identity, ensuring they would not shoot.
It took Chen JinZhao less than half a minute to neutralize the remaining three guards.
He then opened the barrier and drove the Jeep down the road. The road was a good two to three kilometers long, and it took Chen JinZhao some time to reach a magnificent gate.
There were guards at the gate as well.
The guards were surprised to see Chen JinZhao suddenly appearing outside. One of them was dispatched to inquire about the situation.
Chen JinZhao got out of the car and, looking at the grand gate, remarked, "What a magnificent gate. Truly worthy of the Donghai Han family!"
Upon hearing Chen JinZhao's words, the guard immediately sensed something was amiss and asked again, "Sir, do you have an invitation, or an appointment? This is a private and restricted area, unauthorized entry is not permitted."
Chen JinZhao produced his identification again, proving his identity to them.
Then –
He repeated his actions, knocking out three guards and leaving only one.
The remaining guard knew he was no match for Chen JinZhao, but he still said, "Instructor Chen, I advise you not to force your way through this gate, as the consequences will be severe. Your future is bright; do not jeopardize it."
Chen JinZhao said to the guard, "I don't want to trouble you. I just need to know where Han ShangWen is."
The guard remained silent for a moment. "Instructor Chen, do you really intend to do this?"
"I must."
The guard understood and said, "He resides in Villa Number Five. I have a map of the estate on my phone."
Chen JinZhao suddenly found it ironic that the Han family estate was so large it required a navigational map. The guard enlarged the map and pointed to one of the buildings, saying, "It's here!"
"Thank you," Chen JinZhao said.
The guard shook his head. "It is my duty. May I follow you?"
Chen JinZhao shook his head.
The guard felt a sense of regret. Before he could say anything more, Chen JinZhao knocked him unconscious. Chen JinZhao arranged the four guards on either side of the gate, then returned to his car, started the engine, and rammed into the Han family estate's gate!
*Boom!*
The car windshield shattered, and the gate collapsed with a loud crash.
The tremendous noise startled many within the estate, who looked towards the gate to see what had happened.
After breaching the gate, Chen JinZhao drove the Jeep straight through, heading towards Villa Number Five!
And at this moment.
The important figures within the Han family estate were making calls to inquire about the situation. Realizing that someone had infiltrated the estate, they immediately contacted the Donghai authorities, requesting a small contingent of troops for support.
While they were making these calls for help, Chen JinZhao had already driven to the entrance of Villa Number Five.
Inside the villa.
Han ShangWen and two others were drinking, discussing the political situation, and all felt they had narrowly escaped danger.
"That Chen JinZhao is an idiot; he has no guts to act against us. Didn't you notice he always uses that fool Wang ZhenLiang to do his dirty work?" Han ShangWen slurred, clearly drunk.
Su Hao also burst into laughter. "If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have thought of it. It seems Chen JinZhao is indeed selfish. Wang ZhenLiang is truly Chen JinZhao's most loyal pawn; he doesn't even realize he's being used."
Fang MingChao took a sip of his drink and said, "Speaking of which, Chen JinZhao is quite something. The last time I orchestrated that traffic accident, I thought he was done for, but he somehow managed to survive."
If Fang MingChao hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn't have believed it.
"That scoundrel is just lucky," Han ShangWen said with a cold sneer.
At this moment.
A rumbling sound reached them, sobering them up slightly. They exchanged glances.
Han ShangWen hesitated, "Did you hear that loud noise?"
The other two nodded.
All three initially thought they were hallucinating, not expecting it to be real.
Su Hao frowned. "What's going on?"
"Could someone be attacking the Han family? That's impossible. One has to overcome numerous obstacles to enter the Han family; an ordinary person could never get close," Fang MingChao said, still disbelieving that their home was under attack.
*Ring, ring!*
A short phone ring came from Fang MingChao's mobile.
He quickly pulled out his phone and saw it was the butler calling. He answered in front of the other two, "What is it?"
"What?!"
"All, all dead? Where's XiaoYue?"
"She—"
"How could she do something so foolish?"
"Find a place to lie low for now. I will find a way to resolve this."
After hanging up.
Su Hao and Han ShangWen looked at Fang MingChao with puzzled expressions, asking what had happened.
Fang MingChao's eyes were vacant, signaling to them that the matter was grave. Han ShangWen pressed him again. Fang MingChao seemed to come to his senses, saying with disbelief, "Taoyuan Villa was burned down. Those five old gentlemen were charred to death. The perpetrator was my girlfriend, Zhuang XiaoYue."
"What?!"
The two of them shot up from their seats in shock.
Those five old gentlemen were influential figures in Donghai. The death of even one would shake the city, and now five had died at once!
Even with their immense influence, they would not be able to suppress such an incident.
"What is wrong with that woman of yours? Why would she do something so foolish?" Han ShangWen was completely panicked. Those five old gentlemen were all introduced by him. If an investigation were to occur, how would he survive?
Su Hao was also pacing anxiously in the living room.
It was at this moment.
The roar of an engine grew closer and then abruptly stopped. Clearly, a vehicle had parked at the entrance of Villa Number Five.
Before Han ShangWen could react, a furious shout came from downstairs.
"Han ShangWen!"
"Get out here and die!"
