Qi Yue Zai Ye

Chapter 289 Threat from the Southwest

Xiao Wu did as he was told.

When the two realized what had happened, they let out desperate wails, begging Chen Jinzhao to spare them. They knew Chen Jinzhao’s nature; he was a god of death.

They no longer dared to act presumptuously in front of Chen Jinzhao.

Xiao Wu, however, paid no attention to their screams. He threw them into the adjacent office and returned to the original one, awaiting Chen Jinzhao’s orders.

Chen Jinzhao nodded at Xiao Wu. "You're doing great. Please keep an eye on Mick Ross for me. Make sure he doesn't escape. I'll deal with him after I'm done with those two troublemakers."

"I understand!" Xiao Wu chuckled.

Chen Jinzhao nodded and headed towards another office. Tao Qiyue wanted to follow, but Chen Jinzhao shook his head at her. "You can't come. There are some scenes I don't want you to see, especially the process."

It was bound to be bloody.

Tao Qiyue bit her lip, but Chen Jinzhao remained firm. She had no choice but to relent.

"Old Qian, come with me." Chen Jinzhao beckoned to Qian Deshui.

Qian Deshui nodded vigorously, his excitement barely concealed.

He knew his chance for revenge had finally arrived. He had waited for this moment for a long time.

Following Chen Jinzhao, he limped into the office. At Chen Jinzhao's instruction, he bolted the door from the inside, completely extinguishing any hope for the two men.

In his despair, Hong Xingwen's temper flared. After a torrent of curses, he threatened, "You'd better let me go right now, or my father won't let you off. Falling afoul of Qianmen has dire consequences! You might not fear Qianmen, but are the people around you their match?"

"Think about Meng Xinran. You know what happened to her, don't you?"

Qian Deshui’s teeth gnashed so hard they nearly broke!

If Hong Xingwen hadn't mentioned Meng Xinran, his sorrow wouldn't have flowed so uncontrollably.

"Shut up!"

"I haven't settled the score with you yet, and you have the audacity to mention her? I'll kill you!"

Hong Xingwen was startled by Qian Deshui's ferocious expression and stammered, unsure of what to say. Ning Fei, standing beside him, cursed Hong Xingwen's stupidity. Those who knew Chen Jinzhao understood that he responded to reason, not intimidation. The harder Hong Xingwen acted, the closer he was to death.

Ning Fei remained silent, intending to see Hong Xingwen's fate before making any plans.

"Qian Deshui, you need to calm down. I know I was wrong about that matter. But Meng Xinran was just a woman. To show my apology, I can find you several young and beautiful women, much better than Meng Xinran." Hong Xingwen, in his panic, came up with this terrible idea.

These words, instead of appeasing Qian Deshui, completely enraged him.

If Chen Jinzhao hadn't been standing by, Qian Deshui would have lost control. Chen Jinzhao, knowing how hard Qian Deshui was restraining himself, patted his shoulder and said, "Let it out. It's time for your revenge now."

Qian Deshui nodded heavily and, limping forward, stood before Hong Xingwen. "Don't you dare sully Xinran's memory with other women. To me, she is unique, and no one can replace her in my heart!"

"Hong Xingwen, you've made a terrible mistake!"

Hong Xingwen was terrified and immediately changed his tune, begging Qian Deshui for mercy. But how could Qian Deshui let him off? Qian Deshui grabbed a chair and smashed it wildly at Hong Xingwen, making him writhe on the floor in pain. Even Ning Fei couldn't help but swallow nervously, trying to conceal his own fear.

Not long after.

Hong Xingwen lay on the ground, covered in blood, like a dead pig.

Qian Deshui ultimately did not kill Hong Xingwen directly. Keeping him alive might still be useful. Chen Jinzhao walked over and stepped on Hong Xingwen's chest. "I'll ask, you'll answer. Understand?"

Hong Xingwen seized this as a lifeline. He quickly flipped over and knelt on the ground, kowtowing to them for mercy. He said, "Just ask me anything. If I know it, I will tell you everything without reservation! I only hope you can let me go, considering my youthful recklessness."

Chen Jinzhao shook his head. "You are in no position to negotiate terms with us."

"How strong is Qianmen? Will they still advance into the Jiangnan region after this setback? Do you know any secrets about your father, Hong Kui?"

The three questions in rapid succession almost bewildered Hong Xingwen.

After a moment of thought, Hong Xingwen quickly replied, "I'll only tell you what I know. Qianmen is very powerful now, much stronger than Mr. Qian before he retired. The entire group's total value reaches fifty billion. I also heard my father has a cooperative relationship with people from the Golden Triangle. I'm not familiar with that part of the business, so I only have a vague understanding."

He paused, then continued, "My father will definitely advance into the Jiangnan region. It seems to be a suggestion from a big shot in the Golden Triangle."

"As for my father's secrets..."

"I really don't know. I only know he has a few women outside. He doesn't let me get involved in his other affairs, so you're making things difficult for me."

Hong Xingwen finished in one breath and then weakly looked up at Chen Jinzhao.

Chen Jinzhao turned to Qian Deshui. "Old Qian, Hong Xingwen is yours to deal with. I'll be interrogating Ning Fei alone next. Take Hong Xingwen away."

"Whether he lives or dies, you decide."

Qian Deshui grunted.

Hong Xingwen knew he had no chance of survival in Qian Deshui's hands. His chest heaved violently with anxiety. "Chen Jinzhao, you bastard, you're untrustworthy and a renege! I've told you everything I know, why aren't you letting me go?"

Chen Jinzhao glanced at the mentally collapsed Hong Xingwen and said dismissively, "I never said I would let you go. Don't think too highly of yourself."

Hong Xingwen erupted in a torrent of curses.

Qian Deshui, unable to stand it any longer, slapped him, forcing Hong Xingwen to shut up. He then dragged Hong Xingwen out of the office like a dead dog.

Bang!

The office door closed again!

Ning Fei flinched, then looked up blankly at Chen Jinzhao. As Chen Jinzhao approached him, fear surged through him like a tide.

Trembling, he stood up and took a few steps before reaching Chen Jinzhao. Meeting Chen Jinzhao's eyes, which seemed to belong to a being not entirely human, Ning Fei completely broke down.

Thump!

The once arrogant Ning Fei now knelt before Chen Jinzhao, lowering his proud head. Clenching his fists, he squeezed out a sentence through gritted teeth, "There were too many people outside just now. I'm kneeling before you now."

Chen Jinzhao remained silent.

Ning Fei, fighting back the fear Chen Jinzhao instilled, continued, "I truly know I was wrong. From now on, I am willing to be your dog. I will do anything you ask without complaint."

Chen Jinzhao smiled and sat down in front of Ning Fei, staring intently at his face.

"You want to be my dog?"

"Why don't you look in the mirror? Do you think you're worthy?"
