"Are all preparations complete?" Su Cangshan asked Ji Junliang, the captain of the Han family's private soldiers.
Ji Junliang nodded. "Everything is ready. We can press the button now!"
Su Cangshan nodded. "Excellent. Success or failure rests on this one move!"
Then, he turned to Han Chengping. "This villa has no escape routes, does it?"
Reminded by Su Cangshan, Han Chengping suddenly recalled that every villa had an escape route. His expression turned grim as he said, "I almost forgot about that. The villa's basement does indeed have an escape route."
Su Cangshan's face changed drastically, and he spoke with displeasure, "Then why didn't you mention it earlier?"
Han Chengping hadn't thought of it for a moment, but his expression quickly returned to normal. "Don't worry, Chen JinZhao won't escape. That escape route is blocked by a special alloy door. If there's no power, the door will be locked. Coupled with the power outage, Chen JinZhao is still engaged in a firefight with our side. I can basically conclude that Chen JinZhao has not realized the existence of the escape passage."
Su Cangshan breathed a slight sigh of relief.
However, he still instructed Han Chengping to send men to block the exit of the passage, to prevent Chen JinZhao from escaping through there.
Han Chengping complied.
The bombs were all set. Su Cangshan glanced at his watch and said expressionlessly, "Begin the detonation!"
Ten seconds later, flames soared into the sky, illuminating half of the night.
Immediately after, a deafening explosion sounded, nearly shattering the eardrums of Han Chengping and the others. They watched from a distance as the villa was blown to smithereens.
No one could survive such an explosion.
Chen JinZhao certainly couldn't!
Su Cangshan felt a great weight lifted from his shoulders, a smile spreading across his face. "It seems we've succeeded. Chen JinZhao is most likely dead."
Han Chengping's expression was complicated.
He didn't know if Chen JinZhao was dead, but he knew that his son, even if he hadn't been dead before, was now thoroughly deceased.
Amidst his complex emotions, there was a hint of sadness.
The flames consumed everything. Only after the fire subsided did Su Cangshan send men to search for Chen JinZhao's body.
After a thorough search, Su Cangshan and Han Chengping's faces grew increasingly grim. Even the bodies of Han Shangwen and Su Hao were found, but Chen JinZhao's was nowhere to be seen.
This sent shivers down their spines.
"How is this possible? Why can't we find Chen JinZhao's body? Did it vanish into thin air?" Han Chengping murmured to himself. The Han family could not afford the consequences of their efforts to kill Chen JinZhao failing.
Su Cangshan was also stunned for a long time. Suddenly, as if struck by an idea, he roared, "Dig! Dig out the basement for me! He might have been crushed to death in the basement."
Everyone sprang into action again.
Su Cangshan and Han Chengping stood at the edge of the ruins, praying to see Chen JinZhao's body soon.
While they were busy searching for Chen JinZhao's body, Chen JinZhao had already escaped through a secret passage. When the explosion occurred, the entire passage shook, and debris fell from the ceiling intermittently, leaving Chen JinZhao covered in dust.
"Damn it, they actually used bombs to try and kill me. Are they taking me too seriously?" Chen JinZhao cursed.
Fortunately, he had escaped in time; otherwise, he would have been reduced to a charred corpse by now.
After walking for about ten minutes, Chen JinZhao could feel the air ahead becoming much fresher, indicating the exit was near. He didn't dare to let his guard down, as there might be an ambush at the exit.
However, he had already survived the most dangerous moments. This minor obstacle wouldn't be enough to stop Chen JinZhao.
What kind of difficulties hadn't he encountered?
At that moment, Su Cangshan and Han Chengping stared intently as their men dug through the ruins, their faces so grim they could have squeezed water.
If Chen JinZhao didn't die, then they would.
After an unknown amount of time, a private soldier suddenly shouted, "Sir, there's a door here, and a passage behind it!"
Upon hearing this, their hearts sank.
Su Cangshan jumped down to the bottom of the debris, looking at the iron door and the bloodstains on it. His pupils contracted sharply, and he then cursed, "Chen JinZhao, that scoundrel, already escaped through the emergency passage! Han Chengping, look at the mess you've made!"
Han Chengping knew this was due to his oversight, so he dared not retort.
Facing Su Cangshan's roar, he could only brace himself and say, "Don't worry, I've already sent people to block the exit of the escape passage on the mountain. If he dares to show himself, he'll be riddled with bullets instantly."
With four men guarding one exit, he couldn't believe they wouldn't capture Chen JinZhao.
Su Cangshan desperately wanted to scold Han Chengping again. This fool had no idea how powerful Chen JinZhao's individual combat capabilities were!
If those four private soldiers couldn't kill Chen JinZhao, then Chen JinZhao would be like a dragon returning to the sea, and there would be no way to stop him!
Ultimately, he didn't continue scolding. Now was not the time to dwell on mistakes; the most important thing was to eliminate Chen JinZhao!
"All personnel, assemble!"
"Immediately, right now, everyone heads up the mountain to search. Once Chen JinZhao is encountered, engage in concentrated firepower immediately. We'll blast him into pulp if necessary!" Su Cangshan roared.
As soon as he finished speaking, before the hundreds of private soldiers could even assemble, the sound of gunfire erupted from the mountain.
This made Han Chengping's expression even more grim. He immediately ordered Ji Junliang to contact the four guards, but there was no response from them.
Until—
Chen JinZhao's voice came through the walkie-talkie.
"Didn't expect this, did you? I'm still alive." Chen JinZhao's tone was mocking, but there was also a hint of exhaustion.
Even though Chen JinZhao's physical condition far surpassed that of ordinary people, he was ultimately a man of flesh and blood, not an unfeeling machine that knew no fatigue. Killing those four guards had resulted in him being shot twice more, and blood flowed uncontrollably.
Han Chengping's furious roar echoed through the walkie-talkie, "Chen JinZhao, I will tear you to shreds!"
"Is that so? I'll be waiting." Chen JinZhao grinned.
Only then did he notice blood seeping from the corner of his mouth. Chen JinZhao had to raise his hand to wipe it away. If his life could be exchanged for the downfall of the two great families, then death would be a worthy end.
He tossed the walkie-talkie aside and began searching for a hidden spot on the mountain to conceal himself.
Su Cangshan and Han Chengping were clearly much wiser now. Upon learning that Chen JinZhao was still alive, they called back the men heading up the mountain and deployed a swarm of drones equipped with night vision goggles. Starting from the exit of the secret passage, they began a meticulous search for Chen JinZhao's whereabouts. High-tech equipment was a powerful tool in modern warfare, often achieving unexpected results.
Just like now.
After ten minutes of searching, Su Cangshan finally pinpointed Chen JinZhao's hiding spot and began a concentrated barrage of drone attacks.
If not for Chen JinZhao's precise marksmanship, which allowed him to shoot down drones one after another, he would likely have become a target riddled with bullets by now. Engaging in a battle with relentless machines was the most troublesome thing, as machines felt no pain and knew no fear of death; they only followed orders and fired relentlessly! After several rounds of engagement, Chen JinZhao's injuries grew increasingly severe!
In the sky, over thirty drones still surrounded him. He was like a turtle in a jar!
The worst-case scenario had unfolded!
