Chapter 425 Open Fire

The second floor of Villa Number Five.

Han Shangwen and Su Hao witnessed Fang Mingchao's death, the bloody scene causing both of them to retch incessantly. Worse yet, seeing their own fate reflected in Fang Mingchao's demise, they began to beg Chen Jinzhao for mercy, abandoning all pretense of dignity.

The malevolent aura radiating from Chen Jinzhao was so potent that the two men could barely breathe.

A mere glance from Chen Jinzhao was enough to silence Han Shangwen and Su Hao, daring them to utter another word.

Chen Jinzhao had no inclination to argue with these two. After all, he was determined to drag them down with him before his own end. The immediate problem before Chen Jinzhao was to find a way to survive, and he harbored absolute confidence in his ability to do so.

"How can I escape this predicament?" Chen Jinzhao mused.

This was something he hadn't considered before, as he had no idea the Han family kept over a hundred private soldiers, which would present him with considerable trouble.

After much thought, with no viable solution presenting itself, Chen Jinzhao muttered, "I'll just have to take it one step at a time. If necessary, I'll slaughter the Han family until their heads roll!"

Suddenly.

Every nerve in Chen Jinzhao's body tensed, his hair standing on end.

This was the ominous sign of approaching danger. He realized he had been targeted, and someone was aiming to kill him!

He dared not hesitate. The instant the internal alarm blared, he leaped behind the sofa to his right, his movements fluid and without a hint of delay.

The scene unfolded before Han Shangwen and Su Hao, who, before they could even register what was happening, saw several bullets fly in from the direction of the balcony, embedding themselves diagonally into the floor and sending shards of debris and dirt flying.

Their minds went blank, stunned by Chen Jinzhao's ability to foresee danger.

It was only now they understood where they had lost.

This was a comprehensive defeat!

Chen Jinzhao inwardly cursed their ruthlessness. They clearly had no regard for the lives of Su Hao and Han Shangwen, their sole focus being his death. He stated coldly, "You have been abandoned by your respective families. They not only wish to kill me but you as well."

Su Hao shook his head frantically, believing Chen Jinzhao was exaggerating. Han Shangwen added, "Impossible, this is my Han family's territory. My father is directing the operation downstairs; how could he possibly want me dead?"

Chen Jinzhao merely sneered and remained silent.

As the two gradually calmed down, they realized Chen Jinzhao might be telling the truth, plunging them into utter despair.

Han Shangwen cried out in a frenzy, "I am not reconciled! Why would they do this? I am a descendant of the Han family, and I don't want to die!!!"

Su Hao's despair deepened.

He wasn't even a member of the Han family; what right did they have to claim his life?

As they continued to wail, tears began to stream down their faces.

Chen Jinzhao, his patience worn thin, commanded in a low voice, "Both of you shut up, or I'll kill you right now!"

The two men flinched, instantly falling silent, not daring to provoke Chen Jinzhao further, fearing he might kill them on the spot. They would live as long as they could.

Chen Jinzhao had already loaded his weapon. If his guess was correct, Han Chengping was already gathering forces to storm the villa, executing a so-called decapitation strike.

As expected.

The lights in the villa instantly went out; the power had been cut.

Worse was yet to come. Several flashbangs and tear gas canisters were thrown into the living room from the second-floor balcony, plunging the second floor into chaos. Su Hao and Han Shangwen's incessant shouting disrupted Chen Jinzhao's focus, so he promptly knocked them both unconscious.

Outside Villa Number Five.

Han Chengping naturally heard his son's cries, but he proceeded with the decision to storm the second floor. After cutting the power, he murmured, "Shangwen, in your next life, be an ordinary person. Never be born into such a powerful family."

"It's time to act!"

"With Chen Jinzhao's head, I will appease my son's departed spirit, making him his eternal servant."

As the words fell,

The first squad, a total of ten armed individuals, stormed into the villa. The captain stood beside Han Chengping and said, "Master, perhaps the young master can still survive. Please don't be too pessimistic."

"What meaning would survival hold? He committed too many transgressions and has already been crippled by Chen Jinzhao. If he is still alive, remember to grant him a swift end." Han Chengping's face contorted with pain. Only Han Shangwen's death could shift the responsibility for Chen Jinzhao's demise onto him, significantly alleviating the pressure the Han family would face.

The captain gasped upon hearing this, realizing that the Han family had indeed reached a crossroads and needed to make a difficult decision.

"Master, I understand."

He picked up the walkie-talkie and relayed instructions to the ten men, then stood quietly waiting at a distance. Han Chengping inquired, "Do you have confidence? The Han family cannot afford the bitterness of failure."

The captain nodded, "Master, please rest assured."

Two minutes later, gunshots erupted from within the villa, almost piercing Han Chengping's eardrums. His heart pounded with anxiety, fearing that the ten men would be defeated by Chen Jinzhao.

The gunfire intensified, making Han Chengping realize something was amiss.

The captain of the Han family's private soldiers also frowned, "It seems an accident has occurred, but it shouldn't be a major issue."

The exchange of fire lasted a full seven to eight minutes, and the gunshots gradually subsided. Han Chengping exhaled, "The engagement is over. Chen Jinzhao should be dead, right?"

The captain pulled out his walkie-talkie, attempting to contact his subordinates.

"Hello, any progress?"

"Hello?"

"Can anyone hear me?"

From the walkie-talkie, no human voice responded, only a continuous rustling noise.

This caused a sinking feeling in both their hearts; they sensed something was about to go wrong.

Just as they were about to lose all hope, other movements finally came from the other end. The captain said to Han Chengping, "Master, they must have succeeded."

Before Han Chengping could express his relief, a hoarse voice transmitted from the device.

"You're looking for me?"

The voice unmistakably belonged to Chen Jinzhao.

Their expressions turned stiff. This meant the squad that entered had been annihilated, and the walkie-talkie had fallen into Chen Jinzhao's hands. Han Chengping's scalp tingled, filled with a chilling dread as if being stalked by a phantom.

"You, you're not dead?" the captain exclaimed in disbelief.

Chen Jinzhao grinned and replied, "Since you're all still alive, how could I bear to die first?"

Han Chengping took a deep breath, suppressing his fear, and snatched the walkie-talkie. He roared, "Chen Jinzhao, listen to me. You'd best surrender obediently, or I will ensure you have no place to be buried!"

"You should save those words for yourself," Chen Jinzhao replied indifferently.

Han Chengping was about to explode with rage. Chen Jinzhao continued, "Your Han family has quite the audacity. To kill me, you've caused such a commotion. I'll be curious to see how you intend to clean this up."

"Listen to me!" Han Chengping was incensed.

"I will personally sever your head and hang it at the gates of my Han family as a display of dominance!"
