Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Inseparable
"Why is Serena so hungry?" Elias Lancaster asked gently.
Nanny Livingston: Isn’t it good that she’s eating with such an appetite?
She dared not say that and replied, "Old Madam Lancaster came by. The Young Madam, Old Madam Lancaster, and Miss Sawyer went out shopping and returned a bit late, so she’s hungry."
After hanging up the phone, Elias Lancaster frowned slightly.
Did they come back late from shopping?
Didn’t they stop for snacks along the way?
Then.
He stood up. "I’ve handled the key details, Quentin Shaw, you stay and follow up with the rest."
The branch office head immediately stood up as well and saw him into the elevator.
Quentin Shaw naturally said nothing. He had seen the video Elias Lancaster received since he was right beside him.
There’s no choice. Ever since having the young madam, Master Lancaster has never been the same as before.
He resigned himself to work overtime!
The villa.
Old Madam Lancaster, Serena Yeats, and Nathan Sawyer were talking about her younger days.
"Back when I went on a blind date with Arthur Lancaster, I started arguing with him as soon as we met..."
Serena Yeats and Nathan Sawyer laughed heartily at the stories of these loving bickerers.
"Mom, you and Dad are a loving bickering couple."
"Serena!"
A gentle male voice rang out.
Serena Yeats looked up in surprise, craning her neck towards the doorway.
When she saw the man walking in, she got up and quickly ran towards him. "Elias, why are you back?"
Elias Lancaster, "Mom, it’s almost New Year, aren’t you busy?"
Old Madam Lancaster glared at her son, "I’m very busy. Is it necessary to rush people away just for one day apart?"
Saying that, she pulled the still-dazed Nathan Sawyer out the door.
The next day, when Elias Lancaster was heading to work, uneasy, he bundled up the still-sleeping Serena Yeats with her quilt and took her to the office.
When Serena Yeats woke up, she looked around at the familiar yet slightly unfamiliar environment, full of confusion, and tried calling out, "Elias!"
Immediately, the door to the lounge was pushed open.
"Secretary Hughes?" Serena Yeats was surprised to see the person walking in.
"Madam, you’re awake. President Lancaster is in a meeting, and breakfast is already prepared," Secretary Hughes said with a smile.
She reached out to help Serena Yeats up and saw the toothpaste already squeezed out, with toothbrush and towel set up at the sink.
Secretary Hughes marveled at the position Madam had in President Lancaster’s heart.
From that day on, Elias Lancaster took Serena Yeats to work with him every day, inseparable.
At the company, Serena Yeats wasn’t bored either. She would draft prints daily, having finished several already, and Nathan Sawyer had sent them to the competition organizers.
She was slightly busy every day, drafting, reading magazines, taking walks, but never visiting the top floor where Theodore Lynch’s live stream was.
It’s not that she didn’t want to go, but Theodore Lynch didn’t dare let her, fearing she would be sent off to Afria.
Because of that day’s broadcast, Serena Yeats had gained a small group of fans. Every time they went live, fans would ask: "Where’s the little sister?"
She was in the office, sitting on the sofa, where Elias Lancaster could see her at any time.
Thinking about having a meeting later and not being able to see her,
Serena Yeats hadn’t noticed that Elias Lancaster was watching her.
She was engrossed in refining her draft.
Elias Lancaster quietly moved closer, stunned by the brilliance of her sketches. Under Old Master Keaton’s guidance and systemic teaching,
her design drafts now boasted vibrant colors, exuding confident boldness.
Unlike her nature.
Perhaps, in her design drafts, she was confident and belonged entirely to herself, achieving such effects.
Elias Lancaster wanted to embrace her, indulge in her sweetness, but seeing her focused, he didn’t want to disturb her, so he returned to his desk.
After a while,
Serena Yeats set down her pen.
She examined her clothing and jewelry designs; it was a matched set, inspired by a pair of vintage-style necklaces seen in Old Master Keaton’s design studio that day.
But something seemed to be missing.
She looked up, lost in thought.
Casually, she picked up a pen. With fluid motions, a hairpin took shape swiftly.
Completing the look with the clothes and necklace, it was perfect.
Elias Lancaster glanced at the time, approached her, gently caressed her hair, and checked the strawberry cake and snacks on the table, showing no signs of having been touched.
"It’s noon. Hungry? I’ll take you out for lunch."
Serena Yeats finally put her things away.
Allowing Elias Lancaster to lead her out.
Worried she’d be hungry, Elias Lancaster chose a restaurant near the company.
As soon as they entered, Serena Yeats went to wash her hands.
Just about to enter the private room, she noticed a familiar figure flash by.
After entering the room, Serena Yeats said, "Elias, I think I just saw The Young Miss Thorne."
"Hmm?"
Elias Lancaster frowned, fiddling with her hand, "Where did you see her?"
Serena Yeats recounted what she had seen.
Elias Lancaster reassured her, "It’s nothing, don’t worry. She has nothing to do with me as long as she doesn’t harm you."
While speaking, Elias Lancaster was sending a message to Yves Thorne.
Elias Lancaster: Did Dolae Thorne go abroad?
Yves Thorne: I personally watched her board the plane.
Then, Elias Lancaster sent a message to Henry Fletcher to investigate Dolae Thorne’s current location.
He wanted to eliminate any potential threats.
Back at the company after lunch,
with a satisfied appetite, Serena Yeats began to feel drowsy.
Elias Lancaster lifted her and carried her into the lounge to lie down.
Soon enough,
Serena Yeats fell asleep.
Once she was sound asleep, Elias Lancaster got back to work.
On the 25th of December,
taking advantage of Elias Lancaster being out, Old Madam Lancaster arrived at the villa and took Serena Yeats to The Lancaster Family home.
It wasn’t until they arrived at The Lancaster Family home that she sent Elias Lancaster a message: I brought Serena home to stay through the New Year.
With Serena Yeats’ arrival, The Lancaster Family home became lively, and everyone liked Serena Yeats.
Seeing Serena Yeats’ growing belly due to the twins,
upon waking up at noon and coming downstairs, Old Madam Lancaster hurried to her, "Serena, are you hungry? Quickly, sit down and eat."
Serena Yeats greeted everyone and sat down to eat.
She looked around at the house exuding joy and cheer.
Her heart felt warm.
Watching Elias Lancaster walk in from the doorway, she inwardly thanked the heavens for such a good man.
Elias Lancaster looked at her with tender eyes, "Quick, eat. I bought you something; go upstairs to have a look."
Serena Yeats nodded.
Upon going upstairs and seeing rows upon rows of clothes in the room, she felt happiness bringing her to tears.
There were also many family and couple outfits ordered by Old Madam Lancaster.
Seeing the last row with family outfits for six people, she understood that Elias Lancaster’s family genuinely cared for her.
They treated her as one of their own.
Unable to hold back her tears any longer, they fell.
This frightened Elias Lancaster and Old Madam Lancaster greatly.
"What’s wrong?? Uncomfortable anywhere?" Elias Lancaster asked anxiously.
