Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Meeting Again
Elias Lancaster sat up straight, "I will make arrangements for her."
Mrs. Lancaster asked directly, "Then when do you plan to get married?"
"Mom." Elias called her once, implying there was no need to say more.
Mrs. Lancaster also understood what he wanted to do.
Mr. Lancaster stroked her back, soothing her excited mood, "Calm down first, we don’t know the other party yet. Rest assured, the Lancaster bloodline won’t be left out."
Mrs. Lancaster then realized, yes, she didn’t know what kind of person the other was. She didn’t care about their background, but their character had to be good.
"I was too emotional. Son, you need to make arrangements for her tomorrow. The heirs of the Lancaster Family are hard to come by; they cannot be at risk."
The Lancaster Family’s heirs are hard to come by; no one dares to doubt it, as they all come late in life, one male or female only.
Her son is already thirty this year, and has always been distant from women. She thought he was truly without desires or perhaps interested in men instead.
Thankfully, it wasn’t as she feared.
Her son is lucky, having a child at thirty!
The Lancaster Family finally has an heir.
"Hmm." Elias appeared calm on the surface, but deep down, he was somewhat expectant, unable to believe he would be a father.
Mrs. Lancaster couldn’t calm down. She pulled her husband to start shopping for various brands of baby products on their phones.
It showed how seriously she took this matter.
The next day.
Today is Saturday.
Serena Yeats got up at five, quietly left the dorm while her roommates were still asleep.
She called in sick to her part-time job, saying she wasn’t feeling well. Her boss was kind and asked her to come back when she felt better.
She ate a bun, drank some water, and then headed to the hospital.
At the hospital entrance, Serena hesitated, standing at the place supposed to bring hope, yet now it appeared so cold and frightening.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, moments later, her eyes became determined as she went to get a number and found yesterday’s doctor.
There are necessary checks before surgery, and everything must be fine to proceed.
Serena looked so helpless, unaccompanied by anyone.
During her running around for tests, her results and the surgery news reached the dean’s ears.
The dean thought back; yesterday, Young Master Lynch came to inspect the hospital work but immediately asked for this little girl’s file.
He left hurriedly without conducting any work, which struck the dean as odd.
His instincts said this girl must be significant to Young Master Lynch; perhaps the little one in her belly could be a young master or miss of the Lynch Family.
Unexpectedly, the girl returned today, requesting an abortion.
Not daring to delay, the dean immediately called Young Master Lynch but couldn’t get through, sweating with anxiety, and he could only have the tests conducted more slowly.
They were nearly complete.
With effort, he finally reached him on the phone.
"You better have something important!" Theodore Lynch’s voice was filled with dissatisfaction.
The dean’s heart was in his throat, "Young Master Lynch, the girl you asked about came to the hospital."
Theodore Lynch snapped awake, "What’s she here for?"
The dean quickly said, "She came... for an abortion."
"What?" Theodore Lynch jumped out of bed, "Which stage is it at? Has the surgery been performed?"
The dean said, "Not yet, she’s still in examination. I have stalled the checks, but it can’t be delayed too long; you should hurry over."
Theodore Lynch quickly changed clothes and put on shoes, "You steady her first; if anything happens to the child in her belly, none of you will be safe."
The dean hung up the phone, collapsing into his chair; thankfully, he called in time.
If the surgery had really been performed, half his life would’ve been over. From Young Master Lynch’s urgent tone, these kids must be his.
The dean stood up immediately, needing to oversee personally.
Theodore Lynch hung up the phone and immediately called Elias Lancaster, "Master Lancaster, the girl went to the hospital for surgery, you need to come with me!"
As soon as the call got through, he reported the situation.
"Got it." Elias Lancaster only said three words before hanging up.
Serena Yeats ran around alone but finally completed the checks. The doctor said she qualified for the surgery.
However, the morning slots were full; she would have to wait until the afternoon, so she was told to sit quietly on the side.
Serena, suspecting nothing, obediently waited at the hospital but was met not by the surgery but by two men.
One was the man from that night.
Serena looked up to him, the man was very tall, and she was seated looking up at him.
This face, she would not forget!
If he hadn’t claimed to be sterile, she wouldn’t be in this situation!
No matter why he came here today, her only thought now was to make him pay for the surgery and check costs.
Since it was his doing, he must pay.
Serena stood up to meet his gaze; the man’s aura was overwhelmingly strong, making her somewhat nervous.
"Do you remember me?"
Elias Lancaster looked at her, nodded, his eyes deep.
She seemed to have gotten thinner.
Realizing this, Elias Lancaster felt a bit agitated inside, calming his emotions.
Serena bit her lip, feeling ashamed as she spoke, "Sir, I’m pregnant, but don’t worry... I’m having the surgery this afternoon, so... the surgery fee... you cover it..."
Three thousand bucks should be nothing to this man, judging by his well-made clothes he should be wealthy.
The further she went, the smaller her voice became, her head lowering.
His gaze made Serena shiver, not daring to raise her head.
She thought: if this man refuses to pay, what then? If he says it has nothing to do with him, what then?
Elias Lancaster, seeing her like this, remembered the other day when he left her covered in marks.
His tone softened significantly.
"Let’s go, we’ll have the examination first."
He took her small hand and led her for the tests.
Serena was forcibly taken with him for numerous hospital checks, unsure of what this man wanted now or why he required those inspections?
She wanted to ask but swallowed her words several times, daring not to speak.
Who was he really? How could they skip all the lines for testing? Also, he kept a cold face, only responding with "hmm" when addressed.
Conversely, the other man accompanying them continuously wore a smile.
Theodore Lynch rolled his eyes, feeling helpless. Elias thomas with his cold face; does he really think the girl isn’t afraid?
After the checks, they waited for the results in the VIP room, Serena’s hand finally free.
Theodore Lynch laughed, "Hello, sister-in-law, I’m Theodore Lynch, childhood friend of Master Lancaster. I look forward to your kind care in the future."
Sister... sister-in-law?
The words scared Serena Yeats out of her wits, her heart leaping into her throat.
Serena looked at him, horrified, "I... I’m not your sister-in-law! What are you all trying to do? You were supposed to pay for that surgery fee."
Finally, she spoke out what she had been thinking.
