Braised Double Fish

Chapter 17 Roger's Disappearance

As Sakazuki reached the shore, the Demon-Slaying Fleet had already arrived. Large numbers of Navy soldiers disembarked to gather the wounded from the Four Seas branches, providing first aid and treatment.

Sakazuki, clutching his chest, walked over. Vice Admiral Maurice, who was directing operations, turned and saw Sakazuki approaching, his front bloody and his hands dripping with gore. He immediately called for a ship's surgeon.

"Hiss, surgeon!"

"Quickly, examine Sakazuki."

"How did he sustain such severe injuries?"

"No... cough... cough..."

Sakazuki's brow furrowed as he watched the medic approaching with a stretcher. His face darkened, and just as he was about to refuse, a sudden cough forced him to honestly lie down on it.

"While pursuing a pirate, I encountered Charlotte Linlin."

"Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to kill her. The pirate was still rescued by Charlotte Linlin." 138 Reading Network

Lying on the stretcher, Sakazuki recounted the events to Maurice while undergoing examination by the medic.

After his wounds were bandaged, Sakazuki pushed away the medic who tried to force him back onto the stretcher and stood up to move around.

"So that's how it is. No wonder."

"Hmm? What is it?"

"No wonder Charlotte Linlin attacked the fleet like a madwoman. There are quite a few injured soldiers."

"Uh... cough cough"

"Hahahaha! It's rare to see Sakazuki make such an expression."

Sakazuki coughed a little awkwardly, as it was his fault. However, this made Maurice discover new territory, and he began to joke.

The central battlefield of God's Valley.

Clang!

Sizzle!

Boom!

Boom boom boom!

Two sabers, entwined with Conqueror's Haki, clashed. The sound of metal striking metal echoed, yet the blades did not appear to collide.

A small, dark purple orb flickered at the point of intersection, accompanied by a sizzling sound, unleashing countless dark purple lightning bolts that raged outwards.

Everything in their path was annihilated, turning to dust.

Suddenly, a figure appeared to the left of Rocks. His Armament Haki was released onto his right fist, the emitted Haki so dense it was almost tangible, allowing only a faint outline of the fist to be seen. He unleashed a punch towards Rocks.

"Ahhhhhh!!!"

Rocks roared, and another surge of power erupted from within him, forcefully sending Roger, who was locked in combat with him, flying.

Boom boom boom boom boom...!

He crashed through countless remnants of broken walls.

Then, with his left hand wreathed in Conqueror's Haki, he exchanged a punch with Garp's iron fist.

The same metallic clang resounded, followed by the sound of shattering glass in the air.

Crack!

Crack!

Countless cracks spread from the point where their fists met, as if the very space had been shattered.

Boom!

Space completely exploded, and both combatants were sent flying backward.

The Five Elders, wielding a saber, appeared behind the retreating Rocks. Dark red energy flowed from his demonic blade as he slashed at the airborne Rocks.

Rocks adjusted his posture in mid-air, his Haki-infused saber meeting the attack.

Clang!

Sizzle!

Boom boom boom boom boom...!

Blinding white light erupted, and endless dark purple lightning exploded, akin to the end of the world. Everything in its path was annihilated, and Rocks used the impact to fly upwards into the sky.

Immediately after, the muscular Five Elders appeared. Facing the white light, he stomped on the ground and shot upwards towards Rocks. His right arm extended to its maximum, wreathed in Conqueror's Haki, and he unleashed a punch at Rocks.

With no time to adjust, Rocks raised his saber to block.

Clang!

Then, Rocks plummeted towards the ground like a meteor. Unbeknownst to him, Kong had appeared on the ground below and unleashed an attack!

A cone-shaped aura, compressed to a tangible form, slammed into Rocks.

Rumble!

The sound was like thunder, the booming roar tearing through the sky. The Navy soldiers stationed on the coast all turned their gazes involuntarily towards the source of the sound.

Crack!

A thunderclap from clear skies. The clashing Conqueror's Haki shredded the storm clouds, and countless flashes of lightning erupted. The great battle continued.

But no one noticed that Roger had vanished at some point...
