On Porenz's feet, a glowing light green magic circle formed. This magic circle released strong gusts of wind that causes her hair and clothes to flutter wildly
Even the ground below her cracked due to the enormous force of the wind before the pieces were blown away
Rezen also readied himself and he would cast magic depending on what kind of attack he would receive
"Are you ready?" Porenz asked while her entire body was trembling. She was controlling such a large amount of mana that even at her peak was not easy to cast a magic spell
She was pushing herself hard causing her wounds to bleed even more. There was almost no part of her body that was not drenched with blood
"I am" Rezen replied affirmatively and as soon as he replied, Porenz suddenly disappeared from his vision
That causes his eyes to tremble causing him to raise his head. Above him was Porenz that vanished earlier
Her sword's current form was bigger and longer than usual. If a normal sword is formed from metal, the outer layer of her sword is currently made from the wind that enlarges it
This wind sword was at least 2 meters long and taller than many humans
"[Ruthless Grandsword!]"
The magic spell was successfully cast as Porenz slashed her sword downwards. With the aid of gravity, her slashing force became even stronger than usual and those that are paying attention to their battle watched as Rezen was cut in half
"Gasp! No way!"
"D-did she k-killed him?"
"I-I don't like him b-but killing him is a bit..."
The students were surprised at this development. As much as they despise Rezen none of them has the desire to kill him or watch him die
They are angry and they don't like him but killing him still crossed a line that should not be crossed
However, Rezen of course didn't die. It would be a joke if a Senior Mage can't even prevent the deaths of the student that are just low cycle Spirit Mages
Just when the students thought that Rezen was killed, his 'body' suddenly turned into multiple crows. He didn't die and instead used his own magic spell to dodge
"[Crow Illusion Substitution!]"
The current Rezen appeared above Porenz who just landed on the ground after using everything she has. She does not have the power to resist her opponent anymore
Rezen saw that and since this woman was not as bad as his other schoolmates, he didn't make things too hard on her
He landed behind her while pointing his magic at her nape. At the tip of his magic wand was a solar orb that could blast her neck if he so wish to
However, there was no need to do that. Rezen already won!
"Y-you're good! L-let's fight a-again in the f-future!" Porenz said with a smile before she lose consciousness
Her injuries were not life threatening but they were pretty serious yet even with her condition she still casts a powerful spell. It was no surprise that the toll on her body was huge and she had lost consciousness
Of course, it was not as if Rezen was completely unscathed. Porenz's spell was still a pretty powerful one and if one looks closely at him one would see that his side was actually bleeding
He barely managed to escape that sword attack by casting a spell too but even then, he still sustained an injury
"T-the winner is Rezen Virion! Porenz Riva's reward box would be given to you!" The surprised voice of Mage Feather rang inside the barrier, announcing Rezen's victory
Just like the students, the Instructor also thought that Rezen merely has his connection and he was actually very untalented. He didn't expect that he would win against one of the most promising students in this batch
"No way! He defeated Porenz of the Riva family?"
"The Riva Family is pretty powerful in the outer walls. The main branch of the family is even living inside the inner walls!"

The liquid was akin to a potion but it was not created through alchemy. Even since Rezen learned that the seeds of his Spirit Plants could absorb the effects of potions and mutate them, he made some experiments
The most popular seed that he uses was the seed of the Suppla Grapes as it can amplify the medicinal effect of the potion
The liquid inside this bottle came from the juice of Sadistic Berry that was soaked with a healing potion
The healing potion was pretty self-explanatory, it is a potion that heals external wounds
As for the Sadistic Berry, it is a Spirit Plant that improves one's physique after they recovered from a wound
Rezen combined the effects of the healing potion with the Sadistic Berry and squeezed the berry's juice into this small bottle
After all, the mutated Sadistic Berry is not available in the market and no one could ever find it as it was in a sense man-made
If he consumes such a Spirit Plant it might attract some unwanted attention. As such, he decided to squeeze the berry's juice and disguise the liquid as a potion

That shoulder shrug felt like Rezen humiliating him and treating him as a joke. As a result, Quard immediately started to attack
He waved his magic wand and five mirrors formed around him. These mirrors fired light rays toward Rezen
"I will defeat you so badly you wish you were never born in this world!" Quard said angrily as he sent his attacks
With nimble movements, Rezen started dodging the light rays while approaching Quard. However, to his surprise, the light rays can actually bend after they hit the ground or just change their direction when needed
Quard was frantically moving his magic wand around while controlling the light rays and on Rezen's feet, a magic circle suddenly formed
"[Borg!]"
He casts the most basic defensive spell. It was so easy to cast that it is no different from using simple magic
The borg deflected the light rays and Rezen pointed his wand at Quard and he sent his own solar ray
In return, Quard also casts [Borg] and he successfully blocked the solar ray. This gave him confidence and he smiled smugly
However, Rezen just smirked at him as he poured more mana into his solar ray, increasing its power
Crack...
Cracks started to form on Quard's [Borg] and the smug expression on his face fell. He has no choice but to move out of his magic barrier
While magic spells are generally stronger than simple magic it was not as if simple magic could not overpower magic spells. As long as the control and raw power were enough then simple magic can still win against magic spells
Quard thought that he successfully dodged the solar ray after it penetrated his defense but it actually took a turn in the air to approach him
