Chapter 195: Chapter 51 Wang Manman: You say I’m having an affair? Then I’ll have an affair for you to see!

"Fang Fan, don’t you dare slander me! What lover? What hotel? What are you talking about?"

Wang Manman was truly furious. To be subjected to such salacious rumors by her own husband was more than she could tolerate.

"Hah..." Fang Fan, sitting in his wheelchair, stared at her with dead fish eyes. "As they say, the only way to keep a secret is not to do it in the first place. Are you still playing innocent with me?"

"You told me on the phone that the store was busy and you’d be home late. I was wondering what was keeping you. Turns out you were busy hopping into some man’s bed. Don’t you dare talk back to me! That Rolls-Royce at the community entrance? I saw it clear as day."

"It’s not what you think! He helped me with a problem today, so I treated him to a meal. There’s really nothing between us. Besides, he’s a big boss surrounded by beautiful women. Why would he be interested in a housewife like me?" Wang Manman tried to explain further.

But he wasn’t listening to her explanation at all. "A housewife, huh? I’m a man. You think I don’t know what men are like? Some guys are into exactly that."

Wang Manman gaped, momentarily at a loss for words. Perhaps it was exhaustion, but she suddenly lost the will to explain.

"Think whatever you want," Wang Manman said coldly. "Just get out of my way. I need to take a shower."

"Heh, you’d better shower well," Fang Fan sneered, refusing to let her go. "Otherwise, you’ll reek of some other man’s scent. If Nan Nan smells it, I’d like to see how you explain yourself then. Wang Manman, you disgust me."

He even dragged their daughter into it.

"Fang Fan, our fights are between us adults. Don’t you dare drag our child into this! If I find out you’ve been spouting this nonsense to Nan Nan, I’ll divorce you immediately."

This time, Wang Manman was incandescent with rage. He could say anything about her, but not about their daughter. That was a line he could not cross.

A dragon has a reverse scale; to touch it is to invite its wrath.

"You even remember you have a child? If you know this would hurt her, then why did you go out and do those things?"

Wang Manman felt completely numb. Is this what they call ’suspecting your neighbor of stealing an axe’? In his eyes, I’ve already had an affair. No matter how I try to prove my innocence, it’s useless. In his mind, I’m just a woman who cheated on him.

At that thought, she steeled herself. You want to say I had an affair? Fine. Then I’ll really go have one. Otherwise, I’d be letting down all the filthy accusations you’ve thrown at me.

"Fine, Fang Fan. Since you insist, I’ll go warm his bed for him tonight. I’ll go sleep with him."

Forgetting her shower, Wang Manman checked her daughter’s room and saw she was sleeping soundly, undisturbed by their fight. Only then did she put on her coat and walk out.

She left Fang Fan sitting in his wheelchair, his fingers clenched so tightly his knuckles were white. He ground his teeth and spat, "I knew it. Wang Manman, you slut!"

After dropping off Yang Xintian, Sun Dasheng was heading home when his phone rang. He checked the caller ID before answering. "What’s the matter?"

He only heard sobbing on the other end of the line.

"What’s wrong?" Sun Dasheng was surprised. I just saw her home, and now she’s crying? Did something happen?

"Brother Sun, can you come out and have a drink with me?" Wang Manman’s voice was low and heavy.

She didn’t say what was wrong. He asked several times, but she wouldn’t answer, only continuing to cry.

With no other choice, he got back into the car and told his driver, Da Yong, that he’d need him to work a little longer.

"Boss, no need to be so polite. You pay me fifty thousand a month. I’m at your service 24/7," Da Yong said honestly, without a hint of flattery.

That’s probably exactly what he thinks, Sun Dasheng mused. He didn’t say much more, just giving Da Yong an address.

The Rolls-Royce pulled over on a street by a night market, not far from Wang Manman’s residential community. The area was bustling with the late-night crowd just getting off work, and business was brisk.

Sun Dasheng transferred a few hundred yuan to Da Yong. "Find somewhere to grab a bite. I’ll call you later."

"Alright!" Da Yong promptly went about his business.

As a professional driver, he has his own code: don’t be curious, don’t ask questions, and don’t talk too much. As long as it isn’t illegal, he’ll do whatever the boss asks.

Sun Dasheng found Wang Manman at a barbecue stall, where she had ordered a massive spread of grilled food and a large case of beer.

He found a place to sit down. "Do you have a stomach made of iron? Are you planning to drink all this?"

Hearing a familiar voice, Wang Manman looked up, her eyes already hazy with drink. She shook her head and giggled, "Mr. Sun! So, my supposed lover has arrived?"

The remark was presumptuous, and Sun Dasheng felt a flicker of displeasure.

"Ah, no... I’m sorry, Mr. Sun. I’m just rambling," Wang Manman said, quickly raising her glass as if to down three in apology.

Sun Dasheng put a hand on hers to stop her. "What’s wrong?"

"When there’s wine, get drunk today," she slurred. "Come on, have a drink with me, and then I’ll tell you."

Seeing she wouldn’t be persuaded, Sun Dasheng indulged her.

After a few glasses, she suddenly burst into tears. Overwhelmed with grief, she collapsed into Sun Dasheng’s arms and began to recount everything that had happened earlier.

He finally understood. She had been terribly wronged at home. She worked herself to the bone for their family, but instead of getting her husband’s understanding and respect, she was met with suspicion and false accusations.

"Didn’t you make our relationship clear to him?" Sun Dasheng asked.

"Of course I did, but he refuses to believe me! He insists there’s something going on between us," Wang Manman lamented, her voice thick with grievance. If there really were something between us, it wouldn’t be so bad. I’d almost welcome being yelled at then. But there’s nothing! I can even sense that you’ve always deliberately kept your distance from me.
