Chapter 73: Chapter 73 Yun Yuqing

The delivery staff left. David remained standing and clapped his hands.

A group of attendants approached the door of the Presidential Suite, each one holding several shopping bags.

"What’s this?" Sun Dasheng asked.

David pursed his lips and smiled. "Didn’t Mr. Sun ask us to prepare a change of clothes for a lady?"

"Yes, but was it necessary to make such a big fuss?" Sun Dasheng wondered. He had only asked them to prepare a single set of clothes, but now it looked like there were more than a dozen. There were several from each major designer brand.

"This is to ensure the lady who came with you is pleased, Mr. Sun. Our hotel has partnerships with these luxury stores, and all of these outfits can be tried on, so please don’t worry."

Pleased? She’ll be more than pleased. It seems that as long as the money is right, the service will be exceptional. They’ve thought of everything for you, even things you hadn’t considered.

The people carrying the clothes were all saleswomen from the luxury boutiques. True professional service.

Sun Dasheng had them enter the bedroom one by one, allowing Wu Xiaoli to try on outfits to her heart’s content. Meanwhile, he chatted with the butler on the sofa in the living room.

Being the butler for a five-star hotel’s Presidential Suite really required a certain set of skills. He was a bona fide graduate in hotel management from a top-ten university in the UK, had worked in five-star hotels there for over a decade, and later underwent professional butler training before switching careers to do this full-time. Upon returning to the country, he was considered a rare talent in high demand, with many hotels offering him exorbitant salaries. Eventually, he joined the recently opened Jiahao International Hotel. He could chat about anything from astronomy and geography to celebrity gossip or domestic and international politics. His range of knowledge was vast.

While the two of them were chatting, Wu Xiaoli was baffled inside the bedroom.

When would she ever finish trying on all these outfits? It wasn’t that she was impatient, but she adored every single one. What was she supposed to do?

But when she saw the jaw-dropping price tags, she quickly suppressed the desire to take them all. She had been frugal her entire life. Even if she owned some valuable clothes or jewelry, it was only ever one or two pieces—the kind she could never bear to wear on a regular basis. Her other everyday clothes were mostly bought online, never costing more than a hundred. She would feel the pinch for days if she bought a pair of shoes that cost over a thousand. It wasn’t that she lacked money; it was just the spending habits she had developed growing up. She wasn’t the kind of woman who could spend lavishly without batting an eye.

"How many more are there to try?" she asked with a weary sigh as the next attendant walked in with a bag, just as she finished with the last one.

This attendant was a bit bolder than the others. When faced with her question, the previous women had only smiled silently. This one actually answered.

"I’m in the middle of the line, so there should be about as many left as have already gone in." She couldn’t help but chuckle at Wu Xiaoli’s exasperated expression. "Having a gentleman who treats you so well is something all of us sisters envy. Why don’t you seem happy about it?"

"Don’t be ridiculous, of course I’m happy. It’s just that spending so much on all these clothes seems wasteful. We women need to be shrewd and thrifty. Being able to manage a household well is how you capture a man’s heart," Wu Xiaoli retorted.

The attendant’s eyes lit up. "Sis, your words are a real eye-opener. Is that how you captured your man’s heart?"

She must have been a natural extrovert, daring to say anything that came to mind.

Wu Xiaoli just shook her head as she tried on the clothes, saying nothing more. Deep down, she wasn’t so sure. This man was hot and cold with her, a complete mystery. Capture his heart? She was still a long way from that.

Seeing that the customer had fallen silent, the attendant quieted down as well. After Wu Xiaoli finished with that outfit, she left, and another attendant entered.

Trying on clothes took nearly half an hour. When it was finally over, Wu Xiaoli felt more exhausted than if she had spent an entire day at the mall, though she wasn’t sure why. She didn’t change out of the last outfit she tried and walked out wearing it.

Sun Dasheng’s eyes lit up. She looked beautiful. A white blouse paired with a black pleated skirt—it was a breathtaking combination.

"This outfit does look good. What about the others? Were there any others you liked?" he asked.

Seeing her hesitant expression, he understood. He turned and said, "David, leave all the clothes here. I’ll take them all."

"How should I pay?"

The butler, David, smiled. "You can settle the bill when you check out, Mr. Sun."

Seeing the guest had no other instructions, he waved his hand, and the attendants filed out in an orderly fashion. The butler was the last to go.

"Mr. Sun, if you need anything else, please contact me. I’m at your service twenty-four hours a day. Enjoy your meal!"

With that, he bowed respectfully, took small steps backward, and gently closed the door behind him.

See? That’s what you call professional.

"Let’s eat. I just ordered a few things at random. See if there’s anything you like."

Wu Xiaoli glanced at the dining table and was stunned. Good heavens. There was Australian lobster, abalone, bird’s nest soup, shark fin, and several other dishes she couldn’t even name. Even if she didn’t recognize them, she could tell from the presentation alone that they were incredibly expensive.

"Go on, eat. It’s just a simple lunch. Don’t overthink it," Sun Dasheng said.

Since they were both starving, they ate quickly. Sun Dasheng, in particular, became a voracious eater, devouring a good seventy percent of the food on the table before letting out a satisfied burp.

Soon after, the doorbell rang. A waiter came in to clear the tableware, replacing it with dessert and drinks.

After checking out, he called a car for her and then drove back himself.

As soon as he walked through the door, he saw Li Sili sneaking over to him.

She whispered, "Uncle, where were you last night? Do you know something big happened?"

He knew exactly what she was talking about but feigned ignorance. "Oh? I had to go out for something. What happened?"

Li Sili glanced furtively behind her before sharing her secret. "I got up early this morning and saw your room door was open. I got curious and peeked inside, and guess what I saw?"

"What did you see?" Sun Dasheng continued to play dumb.

"Fang Sihan and Yun Yuqing were in there, sleeping wrapped up in each other’s arms!" Li Sili said with a suggestive wink.

"And then?" Sun Dasheng asked.

"Uncle, aren’t you surprised?" Li Sili eyed him suspiciously.

"Of course, I’m surprised. What were those two little rascals doing in my room?" Sun Dasheng feigned annoyance.

"Who knows? Maybe they got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and went into the wrong room," Li Sili guessed. "Anyway, Uncle, I’m off to work. Bye!"

Having shared her gossip, the girl made a quick escape.

"Where are they? Weren’t they supposed to go to Hengdian today?"

"Ah? We took the day off. The three of us will go by ourselves tomorrow."

With that, she closed the door and was gone.

「Yun Yuqing’s bedroom.」

The door opened.

"I already said I’m not hungry. I don’t want to eat." A human-shaped lump under the covers muttered irritably, assuming it was Li Sili again.

A moment later, someone slipped into the bed and hugged her from behind.

"Who is it?" Yun Yuqing struggled frantically, thinking an intruder had gotten into her room.

"Don’t move. It’s me."

His gentle voice stopped her struggles, but she kept her back turned to him, silent.

"Are you still mad at me?" Sun Dasheng chuckled. "If I had dared to do anything out of line last night, this story would have ended right then and there."

"Uncle, what are you talking about?"

Yun Yuqing seemed to realize how wrong it was for her and Fang Sihan to have climbed into his bed. Her breathing grew ragged as two large hands began to roam over her body.

"Uncle..." Her voice quivered.

"I heard you have a poor appetite and can’t eat, is that right?" Sun Dasheng chuckled mischievously. "In that case, let me taste how delicious this little dessert is first."

"Ah! Uncle, be gentle."

Pain!

For the inexperienced Yun Yuqing, his appetite was far too voracious.
