Chapter 85: Chapter 85 The Original Family of Yun Yuqing
What’s that saying again? If you’d lived my life, you would have done far worse.
Okay, so Yun Yuqing wasn’t crazy. It’s just that these sorts of things were a family legacy—nothing to be surprised about. As traditional businessmen from Jiangsu-Zhejiang, her great-grandfather had taken over a dozen concubines during the Republic of China era. Although her grandfather lived in the new China, he still fled to Harbor City and married several concubines there.
In her family, her father and grandmother were the abandoned legal wife and child. After her grandfather left, her father suffered terribly for many years. Later, when her grandfather returned to the country to formally acknowledge his relatives, her father found success, and the traditions hidden in the family’s blood began to sprout once more.
Of course, he couldn’t go against the law, so he simply divorced, abandoning his faithful wife of many years to marry someone younger and more beautiful. And yes, Yun Yuqing’s mother was that younger, more beautiful woman. Before long, however, both she and her mother were abandoned. It was as if they’d been hit by a boomerang.
To say "abandoned" isn’t entirely accurate. Except for the original wife, the other women her father found later all lived together in harmony. After getting a divorce certificate from his legal wife, he never registered another marriage. Without a certificate, no one could accuse him of bigamy. Good heavens, he was exploiting a legal loophole.
Yun Yuqing grew up in this environment, which just goes to show how one’s family upbringing can affect their entire life, sometimes without them even realizing it.
After hearing her story, Sun Dasheng was dumbfounded. Good heavens, I had no idea there were so many distinguished predecessors in this field. For a moment, he couldn’t think of any words of comfort. After all, he and her father were the same kind of men. Help her curse her beastly father? Wouldn’t I just be cursing myself?
"Well, the others have gone to pack their bags. You should go too, don’t keep them waiting." Sun Dasheng had run out of things to say.
Yun Yuqing covered her mouth and smiled. "I packed my bags last night, so there’s no need to worry. And you don’t have to be so cautious around me; I’m used to it. As long as you treat me well from now on, I’ll be committed to you." Her bright, intense eyes were fixed on him.
With the woman being so brave, he certainly couldn’t be a coward. Petting her head, he said, "Rest assured, all three of you are very important to me."
Yun Yuqing beamed, but a flicker of sadness passed through her eyes. She hid it well, and Sun Dasheng didn’t notice. After all, even if I’m willing to share a man, what girl doesn’t have a little princess’s dream of having a good man all to herself? Why did I work up the courage to confess first? It was because I wanted to be his one and only. Unfortunately, reality won’t allow it.
She quickly shattered her impractical dreams, faced reality, and redefined her place. She was a woman with a rational mind and clear objectives. She knew what she wanted and knew how to use her beauty to get the most out of any situation.
Having finished packing their bags, the three girls gathered in the living room, each with a cute suitcase.
"All packed? I’ll drive you to the company first."
After dropping the three of them off at the company, he arranged for a company car to take them to Hengdian.
He hadn’t been back for long when he received a call from Xiang Yiren.
"Brother Sun, the asset inspection at the gym is finished. Manager Li sent the documents over. Have you had a chance to look at them?"
"Oh, yes, I’ve seen them." A document his secretary had delivered just a short while ago was lying on his desk. He flipped through it. He saw the result of the asset valuation was roughly 50 million. Mr. Pi had said he would give a thirty percent discount, making the final price 35 million. The price seemed reasonable.
"I’ll pass the phone to Manager Li," Xiang Yiren said.
"Alright, hand it over," Sun Dasheng agreed.
"Director Sun, hello!"
"Hello."
"I’ll now report to you on the asset inventory."
Manager Li’s long-winded report was cut off by Sun Dasheng before it could even begin.
"Get to the point!"
"Yes, yes!" On the other end of the line, Manager Li broke into a sweat. This boss must be the pragmatic type, huh? No time for long-winded reports or endless meetings? After briefly summarizing the situation, Manager Li waited for instructions.
"Is Boss Pi there with you?" Sun Dasheng asked.
"He is. He’s very keen on this deal," Manager Li replied.
"Then please ask him to come to our headquarters to sign the contract," Sun Dasheng said.
"Understood! Director Sun, do you have any other instructions?"
"No, that’s all."
"Okay, you can hang up first, then."

Before long, Pi Dehua arrived with his lawyer to sign the contract. After exchanging a few pleasantries, they signed the document. Once the contract was signed, the money arrived swiftly in his account. Seeing how promptly the payment was made, Pi Dehua felt a twinge of envy.
"Boss Sun, you’re cut out for big business. Congratulations on your fortune. I have some matters to attend to at my factory, so I’ll be taking my leave."
"You’re not staying for a meal?" Sun Dasheng was a little surprised. Don’t all these bosses love to build connections over the dinner table?
With an apologetic look, Pi Dehua said, "It is my failing this time, Brother Sun. I’ll be sure to treat you to a proper meal next time."
Sun Dasheng didn’t mind at all. The fewer business banquets he had to attend, the better. He despised that kind of atmosphere.
Boss Pi and his entourage left in a hurry. It seemed he really did have something urgent to attend to.
「The Chairman’s Office.」
Everyone else tactfully left the room, leaving Xiang Yiren alone. She was wearing a professional suit today, which was nothing out of the ordinary, but the shiny black stockings on her legs were rather dazzling.
"Brother Sun, feel these stockings. Aren’t they smoother and more comfortable?" Xiang Yiren settled onto Sun Dasheng’s lap, took his hand, and placed it on her stocking-clad thigh as she asked. "These are the ones you bought for me last time. I haven’t even tried them on yet." She whispered into his ear.
The glossy black stockings were indeed silkier, but as he pinched the fabric, he noticed how thin it was.
"You’re asking for trouble!"
He flipped her over his lap and his large hand left a firm handprint on her plump bottom.
"Ah! Why did you do that?!" she cried. "Why did you hit me? What did I do wrong?" Xiang Yiren whined coquettishly in his embrace.
SLAP!
Sun Dasheng smacked her again.
"Go on! Keep pretending!" he scolded. "In this cold weather, even if you want to wear stockings, didn’t I buy you plenty of those thermal ones? The kind that are thick, with fleece inside, so they aren’t so cold. But you, just to look good, you wear stockings this thin in the dead of winter? Are you trying to get arthritis? When you’re old, do you want to be crying about your aching legs every day?"
Annoyed, he smacked her a few more times. He didn’t hold back.
Xiang Yiren cried out in his arms. "Brother Sun, I was wrong, please stop hitting me!"
"It hurts! That really hurts!"
"Will you dare to do it again?" Sun Dasheng asked sternly.
"Never again," Xiang Yiren pleaded for mercy. She hadn’t expected him to actually be willing to hit her. The real pain seared the lesson into her memory. It was like being a child in school again, getting your palms slapped by the teacher—a lesson learned the hard way.
