Chapter 52 Xiang Yiren’s Little Thoughts

Chapter 52: Chapter 52 Xiang Yiren’s Little Thoughts

The next day, Sun Dasheng slept in for a change.

When he opened his eyes, breakfast was already being offered to him. Xiang Yiren was wearing only a white dress shirt. A couple of the top buttons were strained open, and the hem barely covered her hips, revealing a pair of long, pale legs.

She held a bowl of rice porridge, bringing a spoonful to his lips. "You’re awake! Are you hungry? Have some porridge to tide you over."

Sun Dasheng took the bowl from her, set it on the bedside table, and then grabbed her hand. With a firm tug, he pulled her into his embrace.

He smirked. "First, I’m going to eat up this tender little cabbage."

"Ah!"

What followed was a round of vigorous exercise, beneficial for both mind and body.

After a long while, Xiang Yiren had pleaded for mercy several times. Sun Dasheng finally retracted his divine abilities.

They got up to eat breakfast, but Xiang Yiren was too exhausted to move. It was his turn to feed her.

"Brother Sun, my good brother, my dear brother..." Lying on the bed, Xiang Yiren cooed sweetly.

"What’s wrong?"

Sun Dasheng was a bit bewildered, looking at the woman who had suddenly started acting so strangely.

"You still have the nerve to ask me what’s wrong," Xiang Yiren retorted. "At this rate, I doubt I’ll survive for more than a few days."

Seeing her expression wasn’t fake, Sun Dasheng mused to himself. Having a body this powerful has its downsides, though they only seem to affect the woman, not me.

Sun Dasheng reassured her, "I’ll be more careful from now on. Don’t worry, it won’t be like today again."

Xiang Yiren rolled her eyes. As if he could stop himself when he gets going. And if I’m the one to be the buzzkill and remind him, it won’t be long before he loses interest in me. That’s not happening!

Her mind racing, she brought up the old topic again. "Brother Sun, what do you think of my colleague, Jiang Ziyan?"

"Her? Why bring her up again?" Sun Dasheng asked, confused. He had no idea what she was up to. The last time, he had stared a little too long at her colleague’s figure and Xiang Yiren had teased him about it. He’d assumed she was just jealous. But now that she was bringing it up again, perhaps he’d been wrong?

"Isn’t her figure top-notch?" she purred, tracing an ’S’ in the air with her hand. The lower curve of the S was especially exaggerated.

Sun Dasheng couldn’t help but recall that magnificent derrière.

"I heard a lot of that is high-tech," Sun Dasheng said tentatively.

Seeing his interest was piqued, Xiang Yiren chuckled slyly. "Oh, she’s definitely the real deal," she declared with certainty.

"Oh?" Sun Dasheng was clearly skeptical. Without some high-tech help, how could anyone sculpt their butt into such a perfect peach shape? That was the kind of figure countless lechers dreamed of trying out. Tsk, tsk... anyone who’s had a taste of that would say it’s heavenly.

"I’ve personally felt them, you know," she said, holding up her hands with her fingers curled, a sly grin on her face. "I’ve already verified it for you. Guaranteed 100% original parts."

"AHEM," Sun Dasheng cut her off. "What are you talking about? What do you mean you ’verified it for me’? You need to watch what you say, young lady. She’s a good girl; you shouldn’t gossip about her behind her back. Besides, you make me sound like some lecher. Am I, Sun Dasheng, that kind of person?"

Xiang Yiren burst out laughing, clutching her stomach. The sight of him spouting such solemn nonsense in front of her was just too much. You’re the biggest pervert in the world, she thought.

Seeing him continue to beat around the bush, Xiang Yiren decided to be direct. "What would you say if I brought her over to keep me company?"

"Company? It’s good for you to have company if you’re bored. That’s up to you, why ask me?" Sun Dasheng replied.

"Geez, you’re dense as a block of wood!" Xiang Yiren was defeated by his response. But one look in his eyes, and it didn’t seem like he was pretending. She couldn’t tell if the man before her was truly that dense or just a deeply cunning old fox.

"How about you manage the gym after I take it over?" Sun Dasheng changed the topic.

"What?" Xiang Yiren’s attention was immediately distracted by this new topic.

Her red lips parted in surprise. To him, she was just a mistress. Her plan had always been to serve him well, get some spending money, and receive a few gifts. She had never dreamed he would entrust her with managing a major asset. If she had come up with that idea herself, it would have been presumptuous and delusional—not the behavior of a proper mistress. A woman like that would be kicked to the curb by her sugar daddy sooner or later. But now, her sugar daddy had made this incredible proposition, leaving her at a loss for words.

"Brother Sun... thank you for thinking so highly of me, but I don’t have the skills to run such a big company." She thought for a moment before deciding to tell the truth. Although the thought of running a company held a huge appeal, she was keenly aware of her own limitations.

Sun Dasheng caressed her still-flushed cheek and said with a smile, "Just because you don’t have the skills now doesn’t mean you won’t in the future. Just give it a try. No one knows how to manage a company from the start. Who knows? You might be a one-in-a-million management prodigy. Give yourself a chance, a chance to grow and improve."

His words struck a chord in Xiang Yiren’s heart.

When she first entered the working world, she too had considered herself exceptional. She hadn’t continued her education, not due to her grades—on the contrary, she had excelled in high school—but entirely because of her family’s situation. This forced her into the world at a young age, to face life’s battles before she was even properly armed. She had believed that, given a single opportunity, she could change her destiny.

Unfortunately, over the years, she had encountered many ’opportunities’ and plenty of ’patrons’ willing to help her up, but they all came with a price. How could her younger, passionate self possibly compromise? As a result, she naturally missed out on those chances.

"Changing her fate" became an empty phrase. She had certainly changed, just not her fate. Her idealism had given way to realism. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone all-in on Sun Dasheng, the ’tall, rich, and handsome’ man she’d just met.

The outcome was good, of course; she won the bet. But can a person always win in life? Her younger self would have agreed to his offer without a second thought. But now, having lucked out once, she didn’t dare to agree so easily.

"Brother Sun, you should really think this through. We’re talking about an asset worth tens of millions. While that might be nothing to you, it’s a fortune to ordinary people like us."

Sun Dasheng nodded. He admitted to himself that asking her to manage the company outright was indeed a bit hasty. His concern wasn’t whether she could manage it well or if the company would be profitable, but rather whether she was ready to accept such a huge responsibility. After all, people weren’t puppets or NPCs. They had minds of their own.

"Alright then. You can be the manager of the main branch, and I’ll hire professionals to manage the chain."

Seeing Xiang Yiren about to object, he pressed a finger to her lips and said with authority, "No more refusals."
