Chapter 82: Chapter 82 Three Women Reunite

「Hospital.」

After dropping the person off, Sun Dasheng returned home.

The moment he walked through the door, he heard Li Sili’s cheerful chatter. "Uncle, you’re back?" She bounced over and asked with an air of mystery, "Yu Qing has been sleeping all day. Is she sick?

"Si Han came home with a long face, too. She looked so unhappy and just shut herself in her room. What’s wrong with them?

"I asked, but they wouldn’t say anything. Hmph! It’s like they don’t want me as a sister anymore, keeping secrets from me."

After changing his shoes, Sun Dasheng handed her the milk tea he’d bought on the way. "Here, your favorite strawberry flavor. I had to search several streets to find it."

With a delicious drink in hand, she instantly forgot her minor grievances. "Thanks, Uncle. You’re the only one in this house who still cares about me."

Dark lines seemed to form on Sun Dasheng’s forehead. He handed her two more milk teas. "Here, these are for the other two. Why don’t you take these to them?

"They’re probably just upset about something. I’m sure they aren’t deliberately keeping secrets from you."

The young woman nodded, feeling her uncle had a point. But both of them ran into something unpleasant on the same day? She eyed him suspiciously. Could it be that you, Uncle, caused all this?

She had, in fact, unwittingly hit the nail on the head. Both of their issues did indeed involve Sun Dasheng.

However, Yun Yuqing was hiding in her room simply because she was sore from her recent ordeal. She was afraid that just a few steps would give her away. If Fang Sihan and Li Sili found out, wouldn’t she just die of embarrassment?

Fang Sihan was genuinely hurt after learning the true reason her fellow townswoman had invited her to the banquet. To think she had gone with such sincerity. It was a shame all that sincerity was thrown to the dogs.

Not long after Li Sili delivered the milk tea, all three women emerged from their rooms. Yun Yuqing, who was walking with difficulty, brought up the rear. Although she tried her best to maintain a normal gait, the observant Li Sili still noticed something was off.

The young woman ran over to support her. "Yu Qing, did you hurt yourself somewhere?" she asked. "You seem to be limping."

Yun Yuqing’s face reddened as she retorted in a low voice, "Huh? Am I? You must be mistaken." With that, she shook off Li Sili’s supporting hand and began marching in place, her movements suddenly natural and free of any previous abnormality.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Li Sili wondered.

Suddenly, an idea struck her. She leaned in and asked in a conspiratorial whisper, "Yu Qing, are you feeling unwell today because ’Aunt Flo’ is visiting?"

Yun Yuqing, who had been struggling to hide her discomfort, brightened at the words. What a perfect excuse! Why didn’t I think of that before? She quickly nodded. "Yes! That’s the one bad thing about being a girl, those few days every month."

The two linked arms, laughing and chatting as they sat on the living room sofa.

Fang Sihan eyed Yun Yuqing with suspicion. Unlike Li Sili, she knew what happened last night, so she was highly skeptical of Yun Yuqing’s strange behavior. Could it be...

Before she could ponder any longer, the other two turned the conversation to her, asking what had happened earlier that day.

Fang Sihan was bursting with frustration and couldn’t have asked for a better audience. She blurted out everything that had occurred at the birthday party.

"What kind of person from your hometown does that? Betraying you right after meeting you!" Li Sili said indignantly.

Fang Sihan quickly explained, "Not everyone from back home is like her, okay? She’s an exception. We people from the Northeast are actually very welcoming to our own." She didn’t want this incident to make her friends doubt the character of people from the Northeast. There are bad people everywhere. You can’t condemn an entire group just because of one bad apple.

"Well, you’d better keep your guard up next time you go to one of those gatherings," Yun Yuqing advised.

Once bitten, twice shy. Fang Sihan understood her friends were just looking out for her safety, so she nodded in agreement.

"Good thing Uncle was there, or you would have been in real trouble." Li Sili gave Sun Dasheng, who was sitting nearby, a thumbs-up.

"Yeah, I really owe Uncle for today," Fang Sihan added gratefully. "Uncle, I haven’t even properly thanked you. Let this milk tea be a toast. Thank you for rescuing me today."

Sun Dasheng clinked his cup with hers and laughed. "Even if I hadn’t been there, Si Han would have been fine. She’s very smart."

"Is she really?" Li Sili tilted her head doubtfully.

Yun Yuqing covered her mouth, smiling without a word.

Fang Sihan grew slightly annoyed and defended herself, "I might seem slow sometimes, but that’s just because I don’t feel like using my brain, okay? When something serious happens, my mind works pretty fast."

"I’m not so sure about that," Li Sili said, still skeptical.

Frustrated and embarrassed, Fang Sihan grabbed Li Sili and started tickling her armpits. That seemed to be the young woman’s weak spot, as she writhed and couldn’t stop laughing. "HEE HEE HEE..."

"Stop it! I was wrong! I completely agree with you now!" Li Sili begged for mercy.

"Hmph! See if you dare call me slow again." When she couldn’t win an argument with words, she’d resort to physical persuasion. The young woman was clearly no match for her.

Seeing her opponent beg for mercy, she stopped. She then turned to Sun Dasheng, who was enjoying the show. "Uncle, what happened to them afterward?"

She had only heard bits and pieces of what happened next, so she was curious how her fellow townswoman, Feng Tiantian, had ended up beaten so badly. The other two women also looked over with curiosity.

"It was quite a coincidence, actually." Sun Dasheng then briefly recounted the events that had unfolded at the restaurant after they left.

"It really takes a villain to deal with another villain," Yun Yuqing concluded.

"Hey, Yu Qing’s right about that," Li Sili nodded in agreement.

The two groups who got into a fight were hardly good people. Hearing what happened, the women were naturally amused and happy to enjoy the drama from afar.

"So the losers ended up in the hospital, and the winners ended up in jail," Fang Sihan summed up.

"Whoa, Si Han! I can’t believe such a reasonable summary came from you. I’m seeing you in a whole new light!" Li Sili laughed.

"Are you looking to be tickled again?" Fang Sihan said grouchily.

Li Sili cried foul. "I’m complimenting you! You can’t repay kindness with ingratitude."

"Oh, stop. Even I can tell whether that was a compliment or a jab," Fang Sihan grumbled.

Then again, Li Sili wasn’t wrong. She’d just seen that phrase online somewhere. There was no way she could come up with something like that on her own. Still, she couldn’t lose face now.

"Heh heh... I’m sorry, my dear Si Han," the young woman whined playfully.

Fang Sihan couldn’t take it. She batted her hand away. "Alright, alright. Am I really going to bicker with a kid like you?"
