Chapter 305: Slashed Down by Chaos

Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Slashed Down by Chaos

Wisps of mist drifted over the Corroded Block covered with eerie crystal clusters, even the surrounding dense fog seemed to be tinged with an ominous purple by the crystals growing here. The Special Service Bureau’s Deep Dive Team was sampling at various locations, putting the soil and crystals into various secure containers, and then taking them back to the real world upon "surfacing."

Meanwhile, the deep divers set up a large number of detection devices on-site to collect environmental parameters nearby. They even brought in a drilling machine through the "Hunting Eagle," intending to dig down from this polluted block to see how deeply the "corruption" had penetrated.

Where there once stood a Giant Tower, there is now a pit several meters deep, with no crystal clusters at the bottom, only patterns that emit a dim purple glow, seemingly eroded by something.

Hu Li and Erin (Pro) squatted by the pit, discussing what these patterns could be used for, and although they had no reliable conclusions, the discussion was heated.

Xuan Che watched this scene from the side, appearing a bit confused and uneasy.

After holding back for a long time, he couldn’t help but mutter, "Aren’t you worried about him?"

Erin (Steel) looked up upon hearing this: "Ah? Who? Oh, you mean Yu Sheng—what’s there to worry about? It’s not like he’s not coming back."

Hearing this, Xuan Che felt even more troubled, feeling he couldn’t understand the thought processes of the members of this "travel agency"—he had never understood it from the beginning: "He’s in danger! When Hu Li girl launched him up with... uh, her tail earlier, I wanted to ask, does he always do such outrageous and dangerous things? Are you all used to it!? And now he’s moved to another place with that strange tower, who knows what dangers are inside that tower..."

Before he could finish, Erin waved impatiently: "Oh, don’t be so naggy, don’t worry, he’s fine. He even called me just now. Instead of worrying about that, why don’t you come over and see this big pit—the silly fox said these patterns below were pressed out by the base of that tower. I think they were blasted out when the tower launched..."

Xuan Che: "..."

He sighed long and hard, deciding to ignore this neurotic puppet.

In the entire "travel agency," it seemed only the Expert was a little easier to communicate with—though not much easier.

...

Footsteps echoed in the empty corridor, the skewed gravity environment making Yu Sheng feel quite uncomfortable as he walked here, so he simply stopped at a corridor junction, resting against the wall and gently exhaling.

The distant light flickered slightly, indicating there might be a power supply issue here. In that flickering light, Yu Sheng always felt as if there were shadowy figures lurking.

But it could also simply be his vision blurring, given that he’s lost quite a lot of blood along the way.

A malevolent presence was approaching, gathering in the nearby corridors, with gazes falling upon him, cautiously observing.

Yu Sheng had noticed these trailing, covertly gathering presences from the beginning, as well as the sensation of being watched, and he was unsurprised by it.

He knew he wouldn’t be able to operate here for long before being discovered. Even in a shopping mall, there would be surveillance everywhere, let alone a "spacecraft" stuffed with hidden technology—those eerie atmosphered corridors, every corner, every floor entrance, everywhere were "eyes."

Yu Sheng raised his head, scanning around following his senses—the corridors here were all adorned with classical reliefs and complex, ornate murals. In many places, sculptures with some sort of religious symbolism could be seen. From the style, it looked nothing like a "spacecraft," but more like a chapel or bell tower capable of teleportation and space travel. Despite the insane "savior mentality," the Venerate Saints Monastery’s aesthetic sense was quite on point.

After scanning around, Yu Sheng finally broke the silence: "You’ve been following me all this way, set up traps and blocked the nearest passage, yet you still won’t come out?"

The surroundings remained eerily quiet, with only the faint humming of machinery operating behind the elaborate reliefs and murals echoing in the environment.

But Yu Sheng patiently waited, until finally, another noise broke the dead silence.

He heard the sound of armor clashing and the synchronized clatter of iron boots hitting the ground, amidst which there were a few irregular footsteps. These sounds intensely emanated from the corridor entrances on both sides, and then the enemy finally showed themselves.

Yu Sheng saw a dozen familiar "Brass Knights." This time, these strange "creatures" were not hidden, but strutted out conspicuously with a heavy, oppressive aura. Among the Brass Knights were a few unmistakably human figures—these must be members of the Venerate Saints Monastery.

They wore black robes fitting Yu Sheng’s stereotypes of cultists, each tightly wrapped up, even their faces covered with a black, mask-like shell.

Seeing this situation, Yu Sheng couldn’t help but chuckle, pointing at one of the black-robed people: "Hey, I’m just curious, is there some industry standard or code? Do you cultists have to dress like this?"

The black-robed figure he pointed at stepped forward half a step, speaking in a muffled voice from beneath the mask: "You have nowhere to run, invader—surrender, and you may live."

Yu Sheng pursed his lips, reached into the air beside him, and opened a small door to pull out his Tetanus Wand.

Then he grabbed the Wolf Fang Club and started striding towards the members of the Venerate Saints Monastery clustered with the Brass Knights.

The few black-robed figures opposite probably didn’t expect this intruder to be so reckless. When Yu Sheng walked toward them, two of them even subconsciously took half a step back. But in just a moment of shock, they reacted.

"Kill him!"

The Brass Knight received the command and rushed forward instantly.

The slightly skewed gravitational environment didn’t affect the nimble movements of these bizarre armors at all. They advanced in unison, heavy swords laden with cold killing intent slashing down. However, Yu Sheng’s speed was even faster than theirs. He had no intention of getting entangled with these metal cans. Instead, he charged through them, risking injury, performing only limited blocking and dodging, allowing his torso and limbs to be slashed into terrible wounds, allowing his blood to splash and scatter across this corridor.

He brandished the Tetanus Wand and charged towards the nearest black-robed man, smashing the stick down before the opponent could react.

Even the black-robed figure didn’t expect this "intruder" to endure being half-dead from knight slashes to charge directly and hit him with a stick. Given the injuries sustained during that brief tens of meters charge, Yu Sheng seemed to be fighting without any intention of staying alive. In that moment, a whirlwind of questions erupted in his mind, starting with the suspicion of whether he held some deep-seated grudge against this bizarre "intruder" - why? On what grounds? What’s the purpose?

The black-robed man’s body abruptly retreated, his speed far surpassing that of ordinary humans. Yet Yu Sheng’s reaction was faster. Having missed with a chop, he took a mighty step forward, turning the War Stick into a horizontal sweep, slamming it into the Monastery member’s body.

A huge reverberating force accompanied by the explosive sound of metal collision and a string of dazzling sparks transmitted through his hand.

Yu Sheng was briefly stunned, then saw the cultist fly out sideways, with the blades on the Wolf Fang Club tearing open the black cloak, revealing beneath it - Power Armor.

The side of that Power Armor was shattered by Yu Sheng’s brute force, and as the black-robed figure hit the ground, he was already gravely injured but seemed still alive.

If it weren’t for this armor, he would have been smashed into two pieces by that stick.

Yu Sheng turned his head, drenched in blood. He saw two black-robed figures frantically rushing to aid their severely injured comrade, while other black-robed figures stood alongside the Brass Knights, uncovering their robes to reveal various weapons - all sorts of swords, and even a couple wielding chainsaw swords.

Clearly, they didn’t intend to use firearms on a severely damaged ship.

Beneath these cultists’ robes lay Power Armor - weaker than Xu Jiali’s "tough guy armor," but evidently not cheap. And the black "mask" under the hood was actually part of the Power Armor helmet.

That’s certainly not stereotypical.

Yu Sheng felt the wounds inflicted by the Brass Knight on his body gradually healing, but the weakness from excessive blood loss told him he was likely going to expire here. He slightly adjusted his posture, using the Wolf Fang Club to prop himself on the ground, glaring at the Monastery members: "... Who taught you to wear Power Armor under robes? Can’t you cultists synchronize your art style?"

The response he received was a flurry of flashing swords and blades rushing towards him.

The cultists had no regard for Martial Virtue.

Yu Sheng was much more reasonable - cut down on the spot by a flurry of blades.

He didn’t die immediately; he was left clinging to life, lying on the ground in a state of extreme devastation.

A group of black-robed Power Armor Monastery members and Brass Knights circled around, all appearing somewhat hesitant and indecisive.

They probably didn’t expect this bizarre individual who made even the "Sage" overly nervous could really be "killed" so easily.

This intruder was very strong. At least from a flesh-and-blood perspective, he couldn’t be considered an ordinary human anymore. To be able to wield a stick and beat a combatant wearing Power Armor to death, that was simply unbelievable.

But his strength was limited to just that. Once caught in an encirclement, he too would perish.

The black-robed figures exchanged bewildered glances, and someone muttered softly: "... Is he really going to die?"

Yu Sheng struggled to open his mouth, seemingly wanting to say something.

One of the black-robed figures hesitated for a few seconds, finally gathering the courage to move a bit closer.

He heard the "intruder" faintly whisper in a weak, dying voice -

"Yes, I’m about to die - but there are things that should come alive."
